As far as I understand, he has a contract where the first year is guaranteed. Does anybody know why we signed him to a guaranteed contract so quickly? Wouldn't it have been better to wait and see how the preseason goes? From everything I read, it looks like Tierre is clearly doing a better job right now and Hawkins is looking good, too. What are the implications if Maddox gets cut? He would still count against the cap, right? So we would keep Brown and Hawkins?
We do not need Hawkins. Brown's play is no surprise to anyone in the know. Tito is a pick for the future on a team that is very talented. If Hawkins is that good we will not miss him but he should get on with another team.
It's a real shame too. Out of the three, Hawkins and Tierre are the only ones that are playin like they deserve a spot..Tito's play is just flat out ugly. There was a stretch last nite where I was typing "Tito turnover" and "Tito falls down" and "Tito cant handle the trap" too many times in chat. Tierre has looked smoother and more in control than even Mooch lately. He will be a quality backup for us this year I think. Hawkins took advantage of his PT last nite...very active and a real scrapper. Always scrambling for the ball and putting up some good shots. Is there no way we can make room for him?
