Rockets trade Brooks to Suns

I hate Dragic

 

Probably taking a page from the Nets. They needed two 1st rounders to get Deron plus a former lotto pick. We now have the Grizz pick, the knick's pick next year, our pick, the Suns' pick and some young players.

 

I was excited about Dragic but I just checked his numbers. WTF happened? Shot 40% from 3 last year, now 27%.

 

Good move getting rid of Battier and Brooks, as we would have lost both in the offseason anyway.

Only bad news is that neither the Memphis or Phoenix first round picks are likely to be top 10 picks, but we could end up with three late lottery picks now. Depending on how the draft class looks come closer to the draft, might be able to package stuff together to move up to a top 5 pick.

 

I've watched Dragic play last season, not much, if at all, this season. But I really like him. Upgrade over Brooks for me.

Good riddance Brooks. Hero to 0. Just like your number.

I see what Morey did. He figured that we'd make the 8th seed and face the spurs in the first round. So he trades for the Spurs killer!

 

Would you rather see us or the suns get into the playoffs?

 

You could be looking at Brooks' stats, too.

 

Looks like Morey has kicked into full rebuilding mode after striking out on the star front. Stockpiling picks. It was his only card left. At least we have a direction now and can get out of NBA purgatory. I'm glad he did. GO YOUNG!

I fail to see how this helps us much at all, guards aren't our weak spot.

 

Difference is the Nets picks are gonna be lottery picks and likely high lottery picks, they're like 17-40. The Suns pick is guaranteed not to be a lottery pick (it's protected) and Memphis with Battier will probably make the playoffs, so that pick likely won't be a lottery pick either. The Knicks pick also is unlikely to be a lottery pick. Our pick is really the only one that has a decent chance at being a lottery pick. Still though, we woulda lost Batter and Brooks for nothing in the offseason, so the picks are better than that.

Dragic can be a decent backup for a cheaper contract (~800k) next season. The extra draft pick is the prize here.
