Chicago is close to aquiring Courtney Lee (UPDATE: Not close, Rockets want big man)

Can't be true. Why on earth would we trade our backup SG for a third-string PG? The Miami pick is all but worthless.

I personally believe that one of the reasons that we might see Lee go (and Battier) is not only because we have wings available but because Morey wants one of them to play, namely T-Will. Morey has stated that the guy has all-star potential. It's great that Adelman is playing every game one at a time for the win but Morey has to think on a more long term level so if Morey can not only get a center (or two) but get rid of the obstacles to Williams playing then that's two potential wins if Williams is possibly part of a championship team or at least more of one than the people in his way.

 

I think there is a fair bit of fiction in those rumors. Houston has been known as a trade savvy team for many years now and teams like Memphis and 'Sota have been trying to get takers for their draft mistakes for a while now. This sounds an awful lot like two teams trying to generate a market for their goods by making it seem like Houston is interested. In reality, Houston probably only wants Thabette/Flynn if a draft pick is also attached to them.

 

Thats another horrible deal if true. Miami first rounder???? Thats worthless. We are talking about NBA Champions 1st round pick. Flynn??? Not in same stratosphere as Lee.. I dont know. Got to mull it over. Must be another trade or team involved coming.

 

Only if the deal made sense and didn't take away from Chicago's core. I mean **** you gotta understand, they hung out too Asik for god's sake. They love their team.

Bogans was the main chip they've been trying to get rid of....I did also hear from the same source that Chicago offered Kyle Korver to Memphis straight up for OJ Mayo but was denieeeeeeeeeeed.

I can't believe Morey would do that! Hopefully it was Lee and his agent asking for a trade. Especially the way Lee has been playing, he has much more value. Plus, there is still the 800lb gorilla in the room in the lack of a true starting center!

 

Someone needs to explain the logic of this deal on the Rockets' end. That looks horrible.

 

I'm assuming Houston's in love with Lowry, so they'll have Flynn as backup point. I'm almost positive AB will be moved, as will Battier before the day is out. I'm assuming some 3-4 team swap, perhaps bringing Thabeet to Houston, Battier and AB somewhere else.....we shall see.

 

If Morey traded for Flynn without moving Brooks all that means is that Brooks will be moved in another deal at some point.

 

I'm against trading Lee for just some other guard. But if we trade him for a 7' center, that works! That's what we need. He's given us value.

I think your right. Some form of Flynn, 1st round picks and Haseem Thabeet may be coming here. Possibly Asik also.

i doubt we get the pick and flynn. seems more like lee to chicago for bogans and pick, then bogans and pick for flynn. that way there is something in it for 'sota. i would still be happy with that deal.

the next up would be to trade brooks. maybe brooks and battier for mayo and thabeet?
