    What about a Hou/Port/Cha 3 way deal

Houston gets Gerald Wallace, Marcus Camby
    Portland gets Aaron Brooks
Charlotte gets Jared Jeffries, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill

I wasn't aware that Houston was the only NBA team to not make a move

I guess getting Kevin Martin last year doesn't count as a splash to you? I could go back over the last few seasons to blow your statement out of the water but it isn't worth it. The real "the curse of HOU sports" is fans like you with selective memory.

I admit to having selective memory.... Let me show you:

I distinctly remember the draft selection of Rudy Gay... we were set. An insurance policy for McGrady and an athlete to add to our championship contending team. Then what happens.... Instead we have Shane Battier for more money and we would ahave gladly extended Gay just like Memphis and not waste money matching Lowry's $25 mil contract. Remember those offensive lulls we had without McGrady when they couldn't get the ball into Yao consistently or the big man was tired? Remember those Shane Battier slow cuts to the basket? If we had kept Rudy Gay the fortunes of this franchise are completely reversed even with the injuries we suffered.

Yeah, that happened yesterday to me, sir and I cannot resolve that selective memory still.

To answer the question of the hour (24 hours or so I guess):
There's a simple reason why a star doesn't want to come to Houston.

Our best players aren't the character of player that the best want to play with, but Rudy Gay is that kind of player. Melo would have wanted to play with Rudy over Kevin Martin. Melo called us "scrappy", that's half an insult short of saying the Rockets are the Little Giants of the NBA (we have a 6'4"-6'6" center that just got 17 rebounds lol and our backup center is Brett Favre's dad who shoots 3's that either brick horribly or swish). Scola, KMart, & Lowry aren't attractive teammates for a superstar and especially not Shane Battier. There are no stats for that statement, it's just true, call it an eye test.

Great comment on how Adelman wouldn't play G. Wallace, because he, T Williams, and Patterson are the kind of players stars would want to play around. No one was going to go to Charlotte willingly though, but if we had Gerald Wallace and Terrence Williams playing significant minutes on the court, the entire chemistry of the team would be different and it would be much more attractive for the stars you all want unless you want Steve Nash.

Thank you for enduring my Rocket rant of the week. :p

As a Rocket fan I am used to this team making big deals and getting stars. This is the most stagnant I have ever seen this team. I had more fun watching the Steve Francis era than this jeckyll and hyde team. For the first time in a long time we have nothing but a bunch of so called assets that nobody wants. How can they be assets if we are the only one that wants them?

As far as Gerald Wallace is concerned I knew it was a long shot to get him because our GM sits on his hands to long and by the time he decides to do anything the other teams have moved on. I will be truly surprised if Morey makes a splash before the deadline and I would love it if he would make me look like a total ass for saying all this but deep down I really feel we are screwed for years to come.
