Battier for a 1st and Thabeet? that's a nice deal for both teams. Battier will help Memphis get to the playoffs, and is a fan favorite. I'm sure the 1st would be protected, so they are not risking much, plus they get rid of Thabeet's contract. Keep holding out Morey.

I have a feeling we will trade for Thabeet one way or another

lets hope Hayes, Yao and Deke can teach that kid some sweet moves

i think its because he doesnt have enough upper body strength to withstand the momentum, thus he uses his legs and goes hard every time hes see an openin to block.
i feel like he could get injured every time he lands with one foot

Morey really a hard bargainer huh. Thabeet AND a first...for Shane! Lol, that NY Times article has gotta be something he e-mails to every team that inquires about Battier.

2011 MEM 1st rd pick (top 10 protected) ranging from 14th-18th (Brandon Knight, Josh Shelby, Jordan Hamilton) + Hasheem Thabeet for Shane Battier

That's one heck of a trade for an aging Shane Battier, who we'd probably lose this off-season.

That would be a decent haul. I doubt we get it.

Would they give us Thabeet and Mayo for Battier and Lee or Budinger?

What about Thabeet/Mayo or Henry/Sam Young for Battier/Lee or Budinger/Hill?

And if he gets injured, it seems like we'll have replaceable legs for him too!

I'd take that deal. We get a young player. And give Williams some minutes

Their 2011 pick is Utah's from the Brewer trade.

    Essientially a 1st round pick (8th overall) in a weak draft class + a functionally-r****ded PF for a 1st round pick (2nd overall) in a strong draft class + a mid-1st round pick in 2011.

    Morey gone dun it again.

i can hear the Memphis execs right now:

"you mean we have to give up a first rounder just to get rid of a 1st rounder?"

2011 first round draft pick to Minnesota
Memphis' own 2011 1st round pick to Minnesota via Utah (top 14 protected in 2011, top 12 protected in 2012, top 10 protected in 2013, top 9 protected in 2014, top 9 protected in the 2015 Draft). If Minnesota does not receive a 1st round pick from Memphis by the 2015 Draft, then Minnesota will receive cash considerations from Memphis. [Memphis - Utah, 2/18/2010 and then Minnesota - Utah, 7/13/2010]

you're right on. it could be one of many reasons for grizz to limit his playing time.

I would be ok with that deal. Battier is done with us in 2 months, or should be. Take a chance on a center that went lotto and get a future pick.

If it's one thing I have some faith in it's our ability to help a big develop.
