So I can said I told you so. The Rockets team tomorrow will be the same one we had as of yesterday and for tonights game against Cleveland. If we were going to make a move we would already.
I have been critical but dont think this is true entirely. Some trade may go down but it wont be Earth shattering. I lean towards one happening though.
Ya I'm sure Jazz fans also thought this. Fact is, you have no information as to the inner workings of the organization. Not even the media does, that's why not a single source ever mentioned DWill in trade rumors.
I would be very dissapointed if the Rockets stayed pat and finished the season with the current team.
dude you have said this at least 4 times in other threads. we get it. now step away from the computer, hit the gym, read a book, and chill the f*** out with the repetitive postings.
What a great idea for a brand new thread. Although it does seem like I've seen it somewhere before though... Maybe it was this thread that you posted: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=200770 Or was it this one: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=200421 You know what, this one is starting to make a lot more sense now: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=192025
What Most of this Board Will Be Doing In a Few Years Once again we made beneficial low-risk moves at the trade-deadline. Yea we didn't get a superstar, but we never even had a legitimate chance of getting one in the first place. So all those who are crying over not getting a star simply shut it. Thankfully we didn't get Granger/Wallace or any of those mediocre players that would just keep us around .500. Morey traded two potential free agents for two younger players and draft picks. He said he wanted players with upside so he got them and MORE. Honestly this was a good deal. Allows our young players to get more minutes while staying ready in the event that we can trade for a star if the opportunity presents itself. And we finally have a direction to go in. Great job by Morey in positioning this team for the future.
I'm confident that a large part of it was that The JAZZ were not going to trade D-Will to the ROCKETS. I also read that they didn't want him going to a Western Conference team. The Rockets seriously haven't had a fair circumstances when they do try and land a star. Bosh was already on Lebron/Wades ****. Melo was busy wanting to shine in NYC. And D-Will was in no way going to be traded to a Western Conference rival. I'm trying to think why we couldn't get CP3. I'm sure he will probably follow the Melo route.
Maybe if Morey hadn't been telling us since last offseason that he was going to be aggressive and opportunistic about trading for a new franchise for the team, he wouldn't look like so much of a failure right now. Maybe if he had moved more aggressively last offseason or even up to the deadline to tear down the mediocre team we have so we could get something in the draft, we wouldn't appear quite so rudderless now. I like Morey; I think he's a great GM. I gave him a bye on the offseason, but now it's hard to continue to excuse away the obvious: he set out on this course of keeping a competitive team and trying to trade his assets for a new star and he struck out twice -- in the offseason and at the deadline. You can say the right guys weren't available or Melo didn't want to come here, the stars weren't aligned or whatever. But, just like with any CEO, sooner or later circumstances don't matter if the results don't materialize. All I know is we still don't have our franchise player and I don't see that our chances of acquiring one in the offseason have materially improved.
