I most definitely like this trade alot better than the Melo deal. However, in order to get talent, you gotta give up talent

It's not that crappy....Harris is still at a good age and can play. Favors is a high pick full of potential. They also get the Nets' pick this year, which should be at worst a late lottery, probably top 10. Next year they get the Warrior's pick, which is top 7 protected, but could still end up being a 8-10 pick.

One more playoff spot possibly available if the Rockets steps up their game.

And if Utah falls into the lottery (looking like it), they can get two lottery picks this year. Their GM did a good job.

except that what are the odds that any of those picks will be as good as Deron Williams? They did their best though.

agree. on the face of it, it seems a very fair trade.

    What's the Rockets move now?

    Chad Ford (1:39 PM)

Oh boy. Darryl Morey has been super active trying to package all of those assets into a star. He's tried to land Bosh, Melo, DWill, CP3 but no one seems to be in love with Kevin Martin, Luis Scola or any of his young assets. He's going to be creative and aggressive, but just not a lot of interest in what the Rockets are selling.

Teammates said Nets' [Deron] Williams had no idea he'd been traded by Jazz. Learned about it via ESPN's "SportsCenter."

Nets' Williams was with Jazz's Price, Millsap, Bell in trainer's room when he saw report. First downplayed it. Made calls, learned truth.

Wow. This shocks me. I can't believe it. It's making me even more depressed. If they seriously felt there was absolutely no hope of keeping him and that they had to preempt a Melo like situation - which was Denver preempting a Lebron/Bosh like situation.... WTF?

Hopefully Morey is trying to get Deron from NJ now and looking for an extension....Deron and Lopez alone aren't changing that franchise and the Nets still have question marks at PF, SF, and SG. Give them Brooks, Scola, Budinger for Deron and Humphries, and a pick.

Brian T. Smith: Jazz's Williams is not happy with trade. Twitter

DWill is probably not happy because Coach Little Dictator will make Sloan seem like Mother Theresa. Those two are going to seriously butt heads.

    Isn't Harris always injured?

Favors doesn't exactly have a franchise player tag around him yet.

The best player by far is Deron Williams. He;s a known commodity who can lead your team, NOW.

A little bit like Kevin Martin, niggling injuries throughout the season, that puts him into slumps.
