If I buy a 90W AC adapter for my laptop, when normally it came with a 65W, would it do any damage or would it just charge my laptop faster?
It'll charge it but the PC will let you know that you're using the incorrect adapter. I just bought a 65 watt one on buy.com for $38.50 with shipping (no tax). Ordered it Thursday & received it yesterday. Click this link and type in your service tag. Copy paste the part # for the 65 watt adapter on buy.com just to be safe.
thanks. i found my part and it was like $60 when i could get a 90W from micro center for $15, so that's why i was asking.
I have one (Dell 65w AC Adapter) that I don't need that you can have for free if there is a convenient way to get it to you. I live in The Woodlands, and work near I10 and Beltway 8. I guess I could even ship if you cover shipping. Part number:HA65NE1-002 Rev A02
If you get one with 240W, it will charge it in 2 minutes. Really though, as long as the adapter has the same watts and the same tip, any will do. Some of you guys are paying $60.00??? http://cgi.ebay.com/AC-ADAPTER-CHAR...=Laptop_Adapters_Chargers&hash=item4155d4a6be
If the end fits, the laptop will tell you if it doesn't like it when you reboot, during POST. I've used a 135w adapter in place of a 90 for years, on and off.
