Asik can play and he's going to be a gem as he gets more clock under his belt. I don't see Chicago trading him.

The Cavs have been working the phones, but are not interested in a quick fix -- not that there's even one available. Rather, they hope to acquire help and build for the future. Yes, there have been calls about Antawn Jamison, Anthony Parker and Ramon Sessions, among others. But the Cavs are seeking either unprotected No. 1 draft choices or size, like Chicago's Omer Asik or Boston's Semih Erden, and teams are reluctant to give up either.

This. Sick of hearing about how "bad" the Bulls want Lee, yet they don't want to give up anything for him.

    Morey's after Omer Asik.

Chicago won't budge, but Forman's stance will likely change in the next 24 hrs. The Bulls are legit contenders in the East, and Lee could shore up many of Thibodeau's worries and fill the void at the 2-guard.

The sad thing is that teams are preying on us, not we on them :(.

Personally I think the Bulls need Lee more than they need Asik right now. Losing Asik would thin out their front line and they would lose a high potential defensive frontcourt player for their future. Lee helps Chicago's backcourt immediately and he helps them defensively right now.

What cracks me up is that the current Bulls team could actually have a chance to win a championship this year with Courtney Lee starting at SG for them.

    With a starting five of:
    Rose
    Lee
    Deng
    Boozer
    Noah

    +Bench depth
    Korver, Gibson, Thomas

and the real Most Valuable person/piece in that organization Tom Thibodeau's Defense. That team can beat any team in the league.

That's the complete puzzle for a strong championship contender: MVP player, three all star talents (Rose, Boozer, Noah), solid two way role playing starters, a top 5 defense, a bench, and a dominant coach (and youth!).

The would be fools not to trade Asik for a chance to win a title now and for the next few years with that team. Lee could possibly put that team over the top this year.

If the Bulls are so worried about losing Asik, why not throw in Chuck and get back a few picks in the process? I'm sure we'd have to take back some salary, but it it seems like a reasonable offer to me.

I think it's the Bulls front office leaking that to try and lower Lee's trade value.

They get Noah back this week. A versatile 2 is their only glaring weakness. This is a chance to win the title THIS YEAR. Why the hell should CHI covet Asik. They've got Noah.

If Asik is the sticking point and this deal falls through, CHI is r****ded.

I don't know...Lee can really put the bulls over the top and give them homecourt through the playoffs. They're right there and he may be what's missing. I can see both sides giving in some to come to an agreement because they both have what the other desperately needs

I think the Bulls would give up Asik for Lee if that's what it takes. They've spent tons of time scouting Lee and he's the perfect fit for them. They REALLY want him, they're just acting insulted about giving up Asik to try and rip us off.

Gotta have faith man. I bet Morey is doing the same.

I just wish some folks would stop posting stupid trade scenarios like AB Scola for Brook Lopez... Those folks bring down the board....

Being a Chicago fan as well, um, no thanks.

Asik fills a low post, long big man position that the Bulls sorely need in the east, when they'll be going up against the 5 man center rotation of O'Neal, O'Neal, Perkins, Davis, Garnett in Boston.

Right now all we have is a Kurt Thomas who's performed above and beyond what was expected, a soft Boozer on defense, Noah, and Asik.

They've been getting by fine without a 2 guard, Brewer/Bogans/Korver usually fills the spot for a reliable 10-15pts a game. The only way I see the Bulls pickin up Lee is for draft picks.

Your right, its just a game of Chicken at this point because both teams can wait until the witching hour to give in or not. In the end, Asik for Lee should work for both teams. Most likely negatiations started with

Chicago - Lee for 2nd round pick in 2012

Houston - Lee for Asik and 2012 1st round pick.

-Paxton slams the phone down, then calls back 20 minutes later....

-Ok - Lee for for 2nd round pick and Keith Bogans.

-and so it goes..... on and on when both parties know what they really want....

Lee has been that guy all year. He has just recently been given consistent playing time. He can start for about35-40% of the teams in the league.

Even though I feel down that, by all reports, Rockets are being shut out of many talks, Morey won't jump for a trade just to appease the fan base. If there is nothing out there he wont make a move and I'm fine with that.
