homerz falling overthemselves to argue on this thread rox have been dead fish for years now u got all these superteams - how do u even get to that level in 2yrs
I don't understand how taking the team to the second round for the first time in a decade, and then playing winning (though not playoff level in the West) basketball last year means teams getting worse. I would say, he gets another two years before we get out the pitchforks.
I have been here for almost 15 years. I won't be leaving any time soon. I don't accept crappy Rocket teams. Some of you may sit around and continue to rah-rah away another season. But this crap sickens me. I want my team to DOMINATE. Its either win or its misery. I am miserable.
from second round to winning but no playoff to current losing and no playoff isn't this the definition of getting worse? In fact getting worse is the right way to go.
Just by you telling me that Yao was a VITAL PART OF THE TEAM JUST 4 MONTHS AGO shows you how stupid this organization is if they actually planned that way.
We still have Yao Ming on the roster. The fact that he's hurt and may never play again doesn't change the fact that we was a star when he signed the contract. Your making the same mistake I heard announcers make all year long. The Rockets win, but "blah blah blah" were short handed due to injury. Really?!? Really?!? Did the someone travel back in time and step on a butterfly, because I distinctly reminder a 7'6" Chinese center being part of the roster AND injured.
You're not factoring in several other things. 1.) Football town 2.) Competing with two other professional sports teams 3.) Bottom third in NBA attendance. 4.) Competing with two other NBA teams in the state. Three in the vicinity. 5.) Not a free agent destination. I really don't see how being the fourth biggest city makes a difference. Agree with Ariza trade...don't know what you're smoking questioning the Landry trade.
This team is so effed...and Morey is partially to blame for how he put it together. Having one great superstar and a bunch of scrub roleplayers allows us to get a high draft pick the year the superstar gets hurt since our scrubs are going to suck it up enough to drop our record. The fact that Morey put together a team of 'good players at a good price' will ensure that we'll be decent (although not contending) and even if we lose a few players to injury we'll still be good enough to stay competitive and be mediocre for years to come. Either way, we're stuck.
