Denver did really well out of this. They got 3 very good fits in their offense. Expect the Italian stud to thrive under a real coach in Karl and Chandler is a automatic 18-6 type player. Felton and the multipale 1st rounders ensures that they will pickups some young talents along the way
hmm Broussard was just on ESPN saying Brewer is going to NY and then he was listed on ESPN as Knicks new roster haha this is confusing. Its also on Broussards twitter. http://twitter.com/#!/Chris_Broussard
That's a garbage return for a top 10 player. I think they did about as good as they could considering Melo would only go to one team.
People need to have this correct. We traded that pick but it is highly protected. Essentially, the Nets only ever get if we make the playoffs once over the next 3 years. As long as the Rockets are in the lottery next year (which they will be), they will have 2 2012 draft picks.
If New Orleans doesn't trade him, he leaves for nothing, where as if New Orleans trades him, at least they get something. Toronto traded Bosh to Miami for two draft picks, same with Cleveland and Miami for Lebron, and it was the same situation, Bosh and Lebron would have had to take less money had Toronto or Cleveland not agreed to sign and trades. Houston would have given Toronto a lot more than Miami did, but ultimately they had to do what Bosh wanted. We have seen over the last few years that at the end of the day, the player has the leverage in these situations, they always end up in the city they want to be in. And New York always has assets because they have shown time and time again that they will trade as many future draft picks as necessary, they don't care at all about draft picks.
What we have all been waiting for. Exiciting times coming up ahead. Cant wait to see the other trades. Morey is under TREMENDOUS GIGANTIC MASSIVE HUGE pressure now to make something happen. What he accomplishes this tradeline and next offseason for us will determine his fate with the Rockets.
Please don't make me envision a Rockets organization without Morey...He is the most important member of our team right now.
You know, I'm shocked to say this, but...I actually like this deal for both teams. Denver made out like bandits, but I can't blame NY for giving up so much given that they're getting Anthony and a practically guaranteed extension. They're too thin now to win a title this year, but now they have two of the best 15 players in the league, and a big attraction to draw the inevitable third member of the Superfriends II.
The Knicks can trade Billups and Fields for Chris Paul this same time next year. This could happen because Stern controls NO, and thinks having a powerhouse in NY is good for business. Stern has to LOVE that the stars are migrating to the big markets, as it makes for great ratings in May and June.
