Guys I completed the entire P90x program and got great results, I then had to make a decision in trying something else or going through the program again. I chose to try out GSP's new 'Rushfit' program. In my mind I'll alternate between the two..

Tonight I completed the first workout and just wanted to share to you all that it is no joke, I thought I was in great shape...I completed p90x, went through all the struggles... Anyways I'm in awe right now because I figured I would have no problem however I barely made it through the first Rushfit workout, and even then after round 3 I was extremely sluggish on my weights. Usually I feel like throwing up before I take a shower and am fine afterwords however even after my shower I still felt like throwing up. I'm sitting here right now with a broken ego because I feel like I just got my butt kicked.. This is the most intense and toughest workout I've ever gone through.

Just wanted to recommend it to you all, I made a thread about a month ago asking if anyone tried it and since no one had I decided I would try it and give feedback, well here it is.

    I'm thinking about starting P90X.

Never heard of Rushfit. Is it more geared to building muscle mass?

It just came out a month ago thats why you havent heard much from it. It is similar to P90x as in you build muscle and get cut but much more instense. GSP himself was gassing in the workout i did earlier

There are two instructors, him and his real life strength and conditioning coordinator. This is the fitness routine he does (aside from fight training and gameplanning) 2 months before a fight.

Well, the reason I'm considering p90x is....

I've got medium-to-thin build on my arms and skinny legs. All my body fat is in my upper body (chest and gut).

I don't want to go into a bulk-up mode to build muscle mass because that means eating a calorie surplus, putting more fat on my torsoe (yuk).

But if I go into a slim-down mode to reduce fat, I end up not building any muscle mass and being too thin.

So.. I need to slim down while building muscle mass. Some say this is impossible, but I think p90X can do just that. After the 90 days, I would want to go into a new mode to build muscle mass. If Rushfit does that, I might plan on doing it.

You're never going to be in "great shape" to try out something you've never done before, especially if the movements are very specific. Keep that in mind when you try these workouts. I'm sure they produce results, but not being able to do it, or having difficulty, isn't a sign of how good it is.

I've seen GSP's workout on youtube, is this something different?

Didn't GSP say he only does weights for the looks?

At the end of each workout there is a 40 minute stretch in the video that goes over exactly how to perform each maneuver done in that workout technically sound step by step because they stress that you need to do the movement correctly. They have this video part on every workout in the program.

Much more cardio orienated then p90x. Thats why I tired so quickly I was used to heavy weight and break in the p90x workout (maybe 3 or 6 sets before break aside from days like plyometrics). However in the rushfit I did for the arms and powerlifting it was non-stop I never sweated that much during a p90x workout not as much as the p90x yoga or plyometrics.

Yeah he did. He doesn't lift anything heavy, but rather lighter weight just to get good symmetry.

That's not exactly what i meant. That's just to show you how to do the movement, but I meant being conditioned to do it. It's like a jumpshot. . If your arms aren't conditioned to do it reptitively, then you'll have a tougher time putting up, let's say 200 jumpshots, compared to someone who's used to it.

In other words, even Andre Johnson's arm would be pretty tired, if he went through a QB's throwing-specific workout.

I'm actually beginning to turn into a FatBastard. This must change. I'm far too shallow.

It's age dude. My brother-in-law told me that the big threshold is at 40 years. After that it, gets significantly more difficult to stay in shape. I turned 42 two weeks ago and I agree with him completely.

If GSP gets gassed doing his routine, it would probably give me a heart attack in the first 5 minutes. :(

Why did you put a comma here again?

You do know that this punctuation is wrong, don't you?

Is this why teachers are up in arms?
