    I read somewhere that Morey said he would never trade a first-round pick without lottery protection. If Thomas returns to the Knicks, I hope we similarly restrict the Knicks 2012 pick before trading it. Although the odds of a Stoudemire/Carmelo team with a decent supporting cast failing to miss the playoffs next year isn't high, I wouldn't bet against the collapse of any Zeke-managed team.

    As much as people talk about Isiah's incompetence as a basketball executive, he must have some sort of smarts to still be in the picture.

    Is this purely about his basketball cred amongst players?

    As much as I might enjoy the knicks' demise, I do feel for their fans. Knicks fans are awesome and they deserve better.

    Judging from random NY articles over the years, that spot seems to be dependent upon getting and keeping Dolan's ear, who holds a lot of power but has a 3rd rate basketball mind.

    Even when the Knicks SUCKED for many years, the Garden continued to sell out or hit near capacity for every game. I know that couldn't be duplicated at Toyota Center, Staples Center, American Airlines Arena and most other NBA arenas.
