    Frank's is good, but I'm almost certain the people who ran that went and started Tel-Wink about a decade or so a go. I don't know what FFB says, Tel-Wink is fantastic. Frank's is great too though. Man all this food is making me miss home. Two weeks...

    While not Mom and Pop, Papa's BBQ has been a favorite of mine since it was the one spot called Brisket House. First thing to eat when I go home.

    for Thai food, either Thai Bistro or Konamwan. you can't go wrong with either one. Not sure if Thai Bistro qualifies for mom and pop since its a bit more upscaled and not exactly a hole in the wall. but it's definitely not a chain. konamwan is located in one of the least expected places you will find a thai restaurant, but the food is excellent.

    I loved going to the brisket house as a kid. They had that sweet jukebox and that balloon vending machine that always blew my mind. Good times.

    Tornado Burger was pretty good.

    I also heard Tornado Tacos just down the road is also pretty good.

    moon palace

    near greenspoint area. 45 and b8.
    5.99 chinese buffet. Probably the cheapest I've seen anywhere in houston.

    They have whole crabs, shrimp, crawfish all you can eat.
