I don't think Nene is a player that can put us over the top nor worth the $ he is going to demand.

I would rather use our assets for either younger players with upside (Curry/Mayo/Randolph) or draft picks. NeNe is going to be 29 at the start of next season. Plus he does have somewhat of an injury history.

We need to realize that rebuilding is inevitable, and getting a high-paid center is not going to help us in the long-run.

We need talented youth. I'd rather trade Scola/Martin or anyone for that matter to get some young talent that has room to grow.

    Nene has reached his ceiling.

Says the deal would be "Yao/Chase/picks for Nene/Harrington."

    Something as simple as this:

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4oqvxx3

...instantly makes us one of the top 4-5 teams in the west if healthy without question. I'm sure a pick might be needed or include Brooks somewhere instead of Ish to make it all work but it would definately fill the gaps.

You win now and for the future.
Nene, Mayo, Marvin Williams = Talent + Youth

    Lowry / Brooks
    Martin / Mayo
    Marvin Williams / T-Will
    Scola / Patterson / Hayes
    Nene / Miller

I would love to dump Miller for something usable. He is a total waste of $$$

I just looked at Harrington's contract. Holy crap that's scary. 4 more years at about $7 mil per. The guy is shooting 41% from the field. I'd love to have Nene, but i don't know about being saddled with Harrington's contract for 4 more years. I'm assuming this trade would depend on whether or not Nene was willing to sign long-term with Houston. While i think that Nene, Scola, Harrington, K-Martin, and Lowry gets us to the playoffs, I do not think it makes us contenders.

Too many bad seasons for Harrington in the last several years and a bad contract too.

the idea of a yao/bud/pick for nene/harrington is pretty tempting. We need a player like Nene and Harrington (Even though he has an awful contract) is a good player. Can play the 3 or 4..

If Nene is willing to sign an extension along with the trade, then I would strongly consider making that move.

If not, then there's no way in hell.

    Lowry / Brooks / Ish
    Martin / Lee
    Harrington / Battier / TWill
    Scola / Patterson
    Nene / Hayes / Miller

Nene + Harrington does make us better. I dont know why everyone is so down on Harrington's contract...look at what we gave Miller !!! Wasn't really the smartest decision either !!!

Additional moves would have to be made...

    Mayo for Lee

    Marvin Williams for Brooks+Battier

...we would still need a back up C... I say give the Knicks a 1st for Randolph and take your chances

    FINAL ROSTER could be:

    Lowry / Ish / Mayo
    Martin / Mayo / T-Will
    M-Will / T-Will / Harrington
    Scola / Patterson / Harrington / Randolph
    Nene / Hayes / Randolph / Miller

That would be a very hard playing, athletic, dynamic, & veteran mixed team that would definately attract a top-tier free agent !!!

Marvin Williams, T-Will, Lowry, Nene, Randolph, Patterson, Hayes makes you pretty stout defensively and on the glass at several positions throughout most games.

Martin, Mayo, Harrington, Scola, M-Will, & T-Will can definately shoulder the scoring load. Hopefully MAYO steps up and becomes something of a closer.

These are ver manageable and do upgrades to our team that can make some real noise in the west and become EXTREMLY attractive for FREE AGENTS to consider coming to. Remember players the following become free agents and may look to find a new home with a team with proven talent and youth:

    Tyson Chandler
    Tayshaun Prince
    Samuel Dalembert
    Andrei Kirilenko
    Caron Butler

With the exception of Prince, they all could make a big difference to this team instantly !!!

That's what Denver is asking for. Taking on Harrington's deal is a BIG ****ING DEAL. The guy's contract is a ****ing MILLSTONE around a team's neck and I hate his selfish style of basketball. I would not take him without a plan to send him somewhere else.

Hers a good question. Is Harrington a better player than Bud? Than Miller? Than Hill?

that would be insane... we would have more minutes for t will and could play harrinton at the 3...

he can hit 3s all day.

or we could flip brooks and harinton for marvin williams or jeff green

Cost of doing business. To get a guy like Nene, it's worth it.

No its not. Nene isn't that great.

Nene isn't making us a contender. At best a 7th-8th seed playoff team if that.

He could walk on us this off-season and is going to want a large amount of $. He isn't a franchise center, he is a nice piece but not worth the cost of adding Harrington.

I said it earlier, we need younger players not a soon to be 29 year old center who has had injury problems in the past and is having a career year that isn't that impressive.

I'd rather see the team trade our veteran pieces for younger players/draft picks and start from the ground-up.

Getting Nene is just slowly avoiding the rebuilding process. You can't build around him, he isn't a cornerstone of a franchise. If he was he would of been one for Denver at some point in the past decade.

If the Rockets can they need to go for OJ Mayo, Anthony Randolph, Cousins. Hell go for draft picks.

Just do what we can to get any type of talented youth.

There is a reason the Nuggets want Favors. The guy has potential and upside and can be a replacement for Nene in the post. And he can be alot better than Nene.
