Says the guy who thinks The Nuggets would give up Nene Hilario for Jordan Hill and an expiring contract (or as I like to call it, nothing). This is the same team who asked for Danilo Gallinari, Landry Fields, AND Raymond Felton for Carmelo Anthony...

Why in the hell would Denver ever even consider that when they would easily be better off letting Nene expire and going after a big man like Tyson Chandler or Al Horford? Not only that, Nene Hilario IS NOT going to leave $11.5 Million Dollars on the table by opting out of his contract. That is all speculation and there is no way he is getting more than that on the open market.

With Derrick Favors coming in, I suspect the Nuggets are fine with dropping Nene for say Patrick Patterson + Lee/Bud and draftpicks...

I think u underestimate how much Chicago LOVES Noah. No Way they give him up. He's the heart & soul of their interior defense; Protects the rim in a way Chuck Hayes & Patrick Patterson NEVER could.

@ burnoutnotice, do you realise Chicago has no post play besides Chuck and Patterson if they do that play. They give up 7' and 6'll guys for Chuck and Pat? LOL

I don't understand your point. A winning team, even if it's in the future, requires a solid center. And Nene is a top 10 center in the NBA(top 5 according to some here). So regardless of whether or not he's THE GUY, he at least can be part of a contender.

Never hurt to grab a legit starting center when you can. Even when you're not going to win this year.

Best post in the damn thread, by far.

It will be the steal of a lifetime to grab a prime top 10 center for our "Youth & Picks"

If we can land someone else for Yao's expiring/Brooks etc, then we really get deep.

    Scola
    Chuck
    Nene

Are some super solid players on a championship tier frontline.

(I would love to add Dalembert/Landry to that mix)

I would take on the Birdman as a way of enticing Denver. We could use him to an extent. No way to Harrington. I would like to see us absorb money for a high lottery pick. Like a Rashard Lewis scenario or an Elton Brand. Brand would arguably be a better center than anyone we have now.

Do you think Denver would go for a 3 way deal with Houston and NYK of this..

NYK recieving Carmelo, Billips, T-Will, Budinger

Houston recieving Nene, Landry Fields, Anthony Randolph

Denver recieving Danilo Gallinari, Aaron Brooks, Wilson Chandler, Jordan Hill, someone else from New York, Rockets 1st rd pick

Kaman definitely intrigues me. Especially if he can be had for expiring contracts/lesser contracts. I would approach LAC with a Jeffries + Miller offer and maybe add a pick(2nd round or Bud). If we can get Kaman for practically nothing except his not so good contract, I would be for it. We would basically be getting rid of Miller for an upgrade.

Unfortunately, Kaman is often injured and often inconsistent but he has proven he can protect the rim and put up good numbers (albeit on bad teams). I think he would be a good fit on this team especially if you can trade Miller for him. This lowers the Clippers payroll even more while getting rid of a pretty bad contract for a possible bench player behind DeAndre Jordan and allows a lesser contract of a solid veteran to back him now and teach him some tricks. Maybe how to shoot free throws.

I'm not a huge fan of Kaman but if you can shed some dead weight for Kaman, then that is a trade you have to pursue. I would like to aim higher but it would allow us to use our true "assets" to obtain a 2-way small forward like Tayshaun Prince, Gerald Wallace, AI, or someone of that caliber possibly. Or we can continue to hang on to them and see if they can raise their value eventually.

If you can get Kaman for Jeffries + Miller, with or without throwing in a 2nd round pick, you do that deal in a heartbeat. That's a HUGE upgrade with only a one year commitment of big salary ($12.2M), and you get to dump Miller's ($4.7M) contract for next year. I think the Clippers might do this deal to save $7.5 million next year, and continue to invest in DeAndre Jordan as their starting center.

You can always shoot 'higher' on a longer term answer at center, but Kaman is only 28, and the Rockets would still have a lot of trade assets to leverage for other upgrades. If Kaman plays well, we can resign him.

Especially because that can give us the ability to be there if some teams (Indiana? Charlotte?) are willing to cut down salaries and maybe we can get a really needed younger rebounding/scoring SF (Wallace? Granger?) with Yao's contract + some "assets" / picks...

    Lowry - Martin - Wallace/Granger - Scola - Kaman

Imho is a very good team for at least the next 3 or 4 years...

The other way is to get picks and start over from really nothing... Anyway I'm sure DM will see what's on the table and decide for the best!

P.s. I'm not sure DM want to trade Miller as long as RA is here... But if we really get a good SF we can put Shane in there with Jeffries for Kaman!

I dont hate it but would the numbers work?? I think Denver comes out alot better this way and it gives us and NYK more than we would get if it was two seperate team trades...IT IS WRITTEN.

Does anyone know what is the status of Al Horford? He could be a good center for the Rockets now and long term.

His status is that he is a really good player, signed to a long-term, good value contract, and Atlanta is in love with him. Virtually no chance that he's available. If anyone is being shipped out of Atlanta, it's Smith, not Horford.
