Not really. The way clutchfans.net overrates Rockets players you would think Bud would at least match Kobe's second year stats. 15 ppg, 3 rpg, 2.5 apg You have failed us C-Bud.
I made a lethal mistake of praising C-Bud in the beginning of the season. I fell under the hype of Battier Intangibles/Fans. "He would make Bud a good defender", "he's going to put him under his wing".
When a player whose only redeeming quality is to shoot fails to consistently make his shot, he is garbage. Now if he plays D and tries to be aggressive in slashing to the rim, I wouldn't be bothered by his misses so much. However, that is his ONLY job and he is failing at it.
How quickly we forget! Just the game before Bud was the one who ignited the second team's comeback and subsequent scorching of the Nuggets. Read the line -- 15 points in about as many minutes, some key defensive stops, a monster slam, etc. etc. Bud, IMO, may be a off his game due to the trade deadline. He is still the most athletic SF we have.
I thought Bud would push for starter's minutes this year. Whoops! He's simply been far too inconsistent this year, to be kind. He gets on a hot streak now and again, but I blanch when he enters the game. He's just got to be able to figure out how to do other things when his outside shot isn't falling. He used to be great off curls last year, but the Rockets don't seem to run that play anymore. There aren't so many transition baskets for the bench players with Lowry starting.
I guess playing with Kyle inflated Buds numbers. Battier still is not scoring enough but I have noticed that Shane has had more productive offensive games with Kyle in the lineup. Even chuck has benefited.
Adelman is sticking with Bud because he believes in developing younger players and Bud is younger than TWill. Simple as that.
Bump what? He took 8 friggin 3's. Sure he made half, but that was a fluke since he's a 31% (34% career) 3-point shooter. He's just another guy that many of you overrate simply because he wears a Rockets jersey.
I bumped it because this thread, (less than a week old), shows the frustrations of fans w/ bud. I thought it would be interesting to see how people, (maybe the same who blasted him earlier) would react after a solid game like last night. I didn't say Chase was next coming of Christ, buddy. Over rating a player has nothing to do with giving one props for a career night.
He took maybe two bad 3s and missed them both, your arguments are flawed. Just because he's an average 3pt shooter doesn't mean he should pass on open shots. It's not like he's AB and 75% of his shots are contested and he takes them anyway. I bet you also think when Rose and Durant put up 6+ threes that they're terrible shots. Or you don't, and you're a hypocrite because those guys shoot in the 20s.
