Half of an 82 game season is 41 games. Rockets have played a little under 60 games already. There is slightly more than 1/4 of the season left. Rockets have 26 wins so far. There is a chance if the Rockets go on another record winning streak and win 22 in a row again. The Rockets would have 48 wins and make the playoffs!
LOL fail. However isn't the all star break supposed to happen in the middle of the season? Anyway I might have just been making that up. Still 25% of the season is a lot of time, I think we can get there if this team make some changes.
I Believe!! Actually coincidentally i was looking at the standings today and i felt Rockets still have a valid chance of making it and it starts by winning the next couple of games before All Star break.
With 26 games left, the Rockets need to win around 19 of those games to get into the playoff race with 45 wins at the end of the season. 17 of the next 26 games the Rockets should be favored to win. -The Rockets have to really put something special together to win 19 more games. I believe they have the talent to do so now. With the trade deadline only a week away, one simple change to tweak a position or two could really help boost a couple more wins that the team wouldn't have had regardless. -I wouldn't advise going to Vegas with their odds but Im going to be cheering them the whole way there either way and I believe in this team if they play the way they did on Monday.

Five games to make up and four teams to pass in the standings - Pheonix , Memphis and Golden State have gone no worse than 7-3 in their last 10. Well thing is Rockets always surprise with victories like ones against the Nuggets and disappoint with terrible losses against Sixers and Timberwolves. If there is a hot streak for lets say 10-15 games we still have a chance for making it to the playoffs. I doubt it though with rest of the schedule.
Cavaliers had a surprising win against the Lakers. It only means the Rockets can pat themselves on the back for one or two wins against good teams, while 28 other teams send them to the lottery.

Why is making the playoffs important if the Rockets are going to get stomped in the first round? This team needs a top five pick a lot more than a four and out.
Well, some people thing playoff experience is important. This is a young team, we need to teach winning, not tanking. The more playoff games they play (even if we lose in the first round) the better off we will be.
Agree completely. However, Morey built a decent, mediocre team, one that is almost guaranteed a middle round draft pick regardless of whether we make the playoffs. Under Morey's stewardship the Rockets will never be more than plus or minus 8 from the .500 mark, although probably on the plus side.
