I've never seen a movie that has made me cry. My sister cries like a baby at the end of John Q when the son is telling the father, played by Denzel, thank you.
Secretariat. I wouldn't say I bawled, but it was just a feel good story, that got my eyes a little red.
Some movies were already mentioned, but, hmn: Million Dollar Baby. What's funny, a lot of movies that make dudes cry involve family themes, especially the father/son dynamic. "Antwone Fisher" was mentioned. I saw that in the theater a little late in its run, there were myself (back in my pre-married extra-loser watch-movies-alone hey-at-least-you-don't-have-a-woman-talking-through-the-whole-movie days) and a group of 6 or 7 dudes. At the end, we were ALL wiping our eyes. Had to fight some tears when Nemo said "I love you, Dad." And I wasn't alone in that theater. This one is kinda weird. In "Face/Off", when John Travolta brings the young son of his defeated enemy home to his wife and daughter, gives a, Is it okay if we take care of him? look to his wife. And I wasn't alone crying on that either. Guess I have some Dad issues.
The ending of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button made me cry, but really only because the movie was depicting an infant dying. And even though intellectually I knew that that infant had lived a long, full life and had all the experiences that anyone could ever wish for...it was still a baby breathing its last breath right before my eyes and I couldn't contain the tears. That's another movie I'll never watch again. Kudos to whoever mentioned Finding Neverland. That one got me as well. I actually bought that DVD a while back but haven't been able to bring myself to watch it yet because I really have to be in the right mood to watch a movie I know has a sad ending. I still tear up a little at the end of Gattaca when Jude Law's character kills himself in the incinerator.
The end of Toy Story 3 The opening of Up (yes, Pixar is absolutely shameless, but I still love em) The end of Beaches .. can't think of any more at the moment, but there are surely lots more
The Princess Bride. Yeah, I said that. All the business about how you can't stop "true love" and lines like "eyes like the sea after a storm" and I choke up every friggin' time. I'm gonna go have my period now.
Dog movies are always a tear jerker for me... Have you seen the Japanese version of this story Dei????
Freedom Writers - When the kid was reading from his journal at the start of the new year, embarrassed about being evicted and having no new clothes or haircut.
Any movie where a dog dies. Old yeller. Marley and me. I can't even bring myself to watch the end of these movies.
Watched it after reading this thread. http://bbs.clutchfans.com/showthread.php?t=189777 No movie has come close to hitting me as hard as this one.
there always seems to be something in my eye when ray kinsella asks "hey...dad? you wanna have a catch?"
Any Michael Moore's movies should make you cry, you realized that fat ass Canadian just took you for a ride, you wasted 10 bucks and 2 hours of your life which you'll never get it back!
He's a blowhard, but The Big One was a very good movie. The scene with Phil Knight of Nike was priceless
The Rookie. Dennis Quaid gets the call to the bigs and the first thing he does is call home to tell his son the news. forget about it.
Is anybody else going to WIki and looking up ones that they have not seen? I just read the description of Dear Zachary and wow......I don't even want to watch. Crazy b****.
