These are the leaders to this point:

    Howard, Dwight (ORL) 14
    Stoudemire, Amar’e (NYK) 13
    Jackson, Stephen (CHA) 13
    Anthony, Carmelo (DEN) 10
    Billups, Chauncey (DEN) 9
    Blatche, Andray (WAS) 8
    *Bryant, Kobe (LAL) 8
    Garnett, Kevin (BOS) 8

These are also the guys on a pace for at least one suspended game.

    ---------------------------------------------

    The penalties as follows:

Technical Fouls 1-5: $2,000 fine each
Technical Fouls 6-10: $3,000 fine each
Technical Fouls 11-15: $4,000 fine each (with a warning letter sent when the violator reaches his 12th technical foul)
Technical Foul 16: $5,000 fine plus one game suspension
Each Additional Technical Foul: $5,000 fine
    Each Two Additional Technical Fouls
(18, 20, 22, etc.): $5,000 fine plus one game suspension

    -----------------------------------------------

Considering 16 is the threshold for getting suspended, wondered what everyone thought concerning who will get the first suspension and/or how many games will they miss due to suspension by seasons end.

I thought Dwight was meant to be cutting his technicals down this year LOL..

I'm surprised to see Chauncey up there

I suppose the angle I was striving for here was how much teams may be hurt by this. Certainly NY depends on Amare and likewise for Dwight and Orlando. They are their respective center piece players. Its foreseeable that suspensions could change either teams playoff seedings.

While both players are likely to curtail their behavior in the coming stretch of the season, at the rate these two are currently on, Amare would end up with 21 T's, resulting in 3 suspended games, 2 for Dwight. Might not sound like much, but for NY in particular, 3 games could mean making the playoffs or not.

Do the players still get paid for the game they are suspended?

I think they should be allowed more technicals. I am fine with the financial penalties. But I think they should be allowed more technicals before a game suspension. Say like 20 - 1/4 of the season.

Technical fouls are fun. They add excitement, even in the event it is on a player on your own team, because it gives you a chance to get worked up.

Wow I didn't know these rules/fines till today... We are halfway this season and imagine for Dwight Howard, each 2 more technicals is 10k fine plus a suspended game

Anyone knows if the rule include playoffs?
