sort reminds me of this Spoiler <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/mZilFHA2yCk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Wow, Watson messed up on Final Jeopardy haha Spoiler Answered "Toronto" when the category was US Cities. It didn't matter though, he dominated the other rounds. The only thing is the computer is just better at buzzing, the other contestants knew all the answers, just could not buzz in before Watson. Still impressive that it got the right answers though.
Day 2 Part 1 <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PHhDLUVAtqU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> seems like the person has not uploaded part 2 yet.. i guess go to the actual youtube site and it might be up later.
I know I read about this like 2-4 weeks ago where Watson already beat Jennings and Rutter. That must've been a practice run.
This is more than just a shampoo commercial, though. This is the beginnings of Star Trek's ship computer. IBM is just badass. lol.
so I forget. Someone remind me of the rules. Can you click in at any moment. Or do you have to wait for the answer to be read? Point is, when does Watson get his text. If you can click in at any moment and Watson gets his text at the instant the answer is shown, I say that's a fair game. If you have to wait to the end and Watson already got his text, that's too much time for it. Plus, gotta give the humans some lack of reaction time on clicking the damn button. point is, maybe Watson is just faster at clicking, where Jennings would destroy it if you could click at any time. plus, am I the only one, or does this smell like IBM is about ready to launch a search engine competitor to Google called "Watson."
[rquoter]Contestants must wait until the host finishes reading the clue before ringing in. Ringing in before this point locks the contestant out for one fourth of a second.[10] Lights mounted around the game board illuminate to indicate when contestants may ring in, and the contestant has five seconds to offer a response. Additionally, a tone sounds in conjunction with the illuminated lights on episodes that feature visually-impaired contestants.[/rquoter] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeopardy!#Gameplay
It became very obvious that if Watson knew the answer he was going to be the first to answer regardless of "trigger time." Computers are like that.
Day 2 Part I <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PHhDLUVAtqU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Part II <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HR2_M8kL_3o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
"computers are like that" haha I still say this is IBM trying to market their new Google competitor named "Watson." and they are foolish. Watson requires too much air conditioning, apparently. We all know the main success of Google is their chimney infrastructure....across 2 thousand billion little linux machines. haha. screw the big blue.
