Lee is not one of the top athletes in this league. He's athletic enough, but not top shelf. When I think of top athlete, its more than just a guy who can finish on a break. When was the last time he's finish in traffic in a half court set? He's kinda like mario elie athletic which is good enough. He's more linear, like chase and not quite as subtle in terms of athleticism. I think because the rockets have so many plodders and non athletes, it makes him look more athletic than he really is. Williams is a better athlete and Chase is equal. He's not as explosive as say Von Wafer to me. That doesnt mean he's not a good player though. In terms of what they can get for him, I would do asik for lee. Why? If I'm projecting upside and regardless of what we're doing as a team, who is more valuable right now? Gortat or Affalo? Thats the upside of the 2 players to me. Ask yourself, who would help the team win more games, gortat or affalo? Again, I think a solid, defensive, developing 7ft er helps win more games than solid, smallish, sg.
I don't see much hate in this thread or from many clutchfans at all. Just about everyone agrees that he is a good player. Some people think that we may be able to acquire the big man that we are needing by trading Lee, but I don't see that as hating on Lee.
I would trade Martin or Lee whatever the other team wants if we are gettint back and better player or Center that can protect the paint.
Lee for Asik. Asik has a great work ethic, and has great potential. He will grow into a solid starting center soon, so just get him now.
If they would have done Gortat, Ryan Anderson and a #1 for Martin, it would have been VERY hard to say No. Just look at what Gortat has done since he arrived in PHX and got steady minutes and the same with Anderson in Orlando since Lewis got traded.
I think this is the answer for next year if we cannot move Kmart in the next couple of days... Some consistent pop off the bench at the 2 or 3 would go a long way ( shorten the rotation ) ... though a lot of money for a bench player
When I think of the FUTURE of the Rockets I see LEE as being there. I see PATPAT I see LOWRY others are good but may be moved to make other positions stronger. Rocket River
i can just see how this will go down right now. We will trade him to Chicago for Asik or whatever and Adelman wont play him. that is what we do. we make moves and then have to wait two years to see them pay off bc Adelman doesn't like 'disrupting the chemistry' of his 26-30 out of the playoffs team... Keep Lee. that is our best bet right now.
That's who i see as well RR. I love scola and K-Martin, but if we are rebuilding, they've got to me moved for a young star. and i dont think brooks and lowry can exist in the same back court. Brooks is the type of player that needs minutes to be effective, and Lowry is proving himself to be a true PG. Not excited about Bud or Hill.
I hope so as well. Patrick does need to put in a lot of hard work. He has never been known for his rebounding. That's the first thing that he needs to do.
I don't see why Courtney can't become a borderline allstar averaging 16-18 points, 35 mpg, 45% FG, 38% beyond the arc, playing good defense and making plays. Guys who thrive in the waning moments of the fourth are rare, that is exactly why an undersized shooting PG in AB is still here They are clutch
How is this guy a keeper? I mean, I absolutely love Courtney Lee..but if we can get Asik for him its a must trade. Courtney Lee is an absolute stud, and is starter-material in this league. But we are barely giving him any minutes. Next moment you see T-Will going for a triple double and everyone's like...oh oh terrence williams is a keeper!! I would trade Courtney Lee for Asik + pick ANYDAY. Lee is being WAY too under-utilized here in Houston. I want T-Will to be our backup SG and Asik to be our starting Center if Morey doesn't go for the 2012 plan. If Morey goes for the 2012 plan, then by all means, KEEP LEE.
Courtney Lee is clutch? Nick Anderson is clutch too I just found out. Lee's only purpose here in Houston is to attract Dwight Howard in 2012.
Lee's had maybe two games this year where he was actually clutch. I can count at least 3 games where he's missed multiple layups or FTs that have directly cost us the game. I like him but he's just fine as a backup.
He doesn't have a scorer's mentality. That's something that takes years to develop and some don't develop it at all.
Agreed. But luckily, unlike many of the tools it takes to be a star, this one can be taught. Once Lee gains more confidence in himself, it's gonna be scary.
