I'm hearing Justin Beiber might be playing Robin for the third installment in which he will show up in the first 5 minutes of the movie followed by a quick, violent death by a fast train.
Looks like all sign are pointing to Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Alberto Falcone aka Holiday Killer. http://perezhilton.com/2011-02-13-joseph-gordon-levitt-to-play-new-villain-in-the-dark-knight-rises
Looks like it. I actually just read it for the first time last week. Great story. I think it'll translate well to the big screen and tie up all 3 movies really well.
You just see that on "Perez Hilton" of all places and just assume it's true? I clicked on his link and the place he sourced sourced another website that is similar to Bleacher Report for comic books movies. Any dip***** can contribute an article there (http://www.comicbookmovie.com/). If it turns out they are right, it's really just a lucky guess more than anything, a logical guess, but a guess none the less. I think the more accurate story out there is that Marion Cotillard has been cast as Talia Al Ghul.
Marion Cotillard joined the cast. Who the heck is she going to be?!? http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=5948826&highlight=batman#post5948826 Looks like Nolan is reuniting a good portion of the Inception cast: Cotillard, Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy. Next thing you know Leo will sign on as the Riddler.
God I hope not. That's the only thing that could keep me from seeing it. I-wish-I-was-Jack-Nicholson-and-will-die-trying-to-act-just-like-him drives me nuts! I can't explain why, but he's never been convincing to me on the screen since Gilbert Grape.
You didn't like him in Blooddiamand? I thought he was great in that movie. That was the movie I started taking him serious as a actor.
His accent was great. I have stayed in south Africa for 4 months during my study and his accent was spot on.
I don't know much about Batman villains aside from previous crappy Batmovies in the 90's. Does Talia al Ghul have any superpowers or does she just do kung fu? Wouldn't she just be another duplicate of her villain dad from the first Batman? Wouldn't that be kind of repetitious? Anyways, I guess I trust Nolan. I'm sure he can make a 120-minute movie about Bruce Wayne fighting alcoholism a kick ass movie.
She doesn't have any superpowers. That's typically what distinguishes Batman and his main villains from the rest of the DC universe. Batman uses his detective skills and gadgets along with great hand to hand fighting skills while his villains use their evils minds and henchmen. I rather prefer it this way after watching a bunch of ****ty superpower superhero movies like X-men or Superman returns. Gives it more realism. The Joker was such a great character because his terrorist actions are completely believable in today's society.
update on Cotillard: Her rep tells THR that "nothing has been confirmed yet," but the move would reunite her with "Inception" director Christopher Nolan. Marion Cotillard may join the cast of The Dark Knight Rises. A rep for the actress in Paris said that her involvement in the film is currently "in discussions, but nothing has been confirmed yet." WB France has yet to comment. The actress, who is pregnant and due in the spring, is discussing scheduling issues. The plan is for Cotillard to start shooting mid-June in London, film all summer in L.A. and Pittsburgh and wrap mid-November in New York. The French actress' name has arisen before in connection with the Warner Bros. movie, which will be directed by her Inception helmer Christopher Nolan. Nolan had been focusing on finding the romantic lead for Christian Bale in recent weeks, reading and meeting with several actresses, including Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts, according to insiders. While Anne Hathaway is cast as Catwoman, the other female role is suspected to be that of Thalia Al Ghul, the daughter of the villain played by Liam Neeson in Nolan's first movie, Batman Begins. French newspaper Le Figaro reported the deal was official, and Cotillard would join the production this summer. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/marion-cotillard-discussions-join-dark-99242
