I really hate how it's becoming a common thing to provide hasty generalizations as a reason to why you don't like a specific genre of music. I hear way too many "rap is about sex, money, weed"; and "Rock is all screaming and etc. etc.". Then when I attempt to call them out on their hypocrisy by making a mocking generalization about the type of music they like they respond by saying something along the lines of "no way, not all [insert genre artists here] are like that!"

Doesn't that annoy you? I mean if you don't like something, at least know what you're talking about when your criticize it.

Human beings are inconsistent and prone to irrational thinking.

I do feel one of those vague statements should be more than sufficient to dismiss the country genre.

The best way to fight generalizations and stereotypes is with more generalizations and stereotypes?

Indie isn't really music. Just a ton of noises put together.

Most mainstream music sucks anyways and can be overgeneralized and stereotyped.

Rappers should write more about political agendas. We don't have enough of those.

I liked the Sugarhill Gang. I bought a Grandmaster Flash album. Since then, rap sucks.

Nobody plays music anymore. When you're sampling old rap songs that sampled not so great David Bowie songs, you know there's a lack of creativity.

It's not that it is bad as much as it is boring.

I don't know, I just think everyone should start listening to more Frank Zappa. The world would be a better place.

With virtually all current country (and rock, rap, pop), I wholeheartedly agree.
