I really hate how it's becoming a common thing to provide hasty generalizations as a reason to why you don't like a specific genre of music. I hear way too many "rap is about sex, money, weed"; and "Rock is all screaming and etc. etc.". Then when I attempt to call them out on their hypocrisy by making a mocking generalization about the type of music they like they respond by saying something along the lines of "no way, not all [insert genre artists here] are like that!" Doesn't that annoy you? I mean if you don't like something, at least know what you're talking about when your criticize it. /rant
I liked the Sugarhill Gang. I bought a Grandmaster Flash album. Since then, rap sucks. Nobody plays music anymore. When you're sampling old rap songs that sampled not so great David Bowie songs, you know there's a lack of creativity. It's not that it is bad as much as it is boring.
I don't know, I just think everyone should start listening to more Frank Zappa. The world would be a better place.
is it a generalization to say black metal is all about satan? <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/puwllq0fBLs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
if everyone listened to exactly what i listen to, the world would be infinitely more intelligent and devastatingly handsome.
I promise I'm gonna go ballistic the next time someone tells me, "I hate gospel....it's all about God, there's no variety." ARRGGHHH!!
