Wow, is all I can say. Reminds me of Antonio McDyess. The kid can run the floor, and jumps up and down like a certain Hakeem Olajuwon. If he can add some more basketball skills, he will be a 10 time All-Star.
He has 2 more points and 4 more rebs than Jason Collier in half again the amount of minutes. I just had to do that kr8.
That Griffin kid ain't half bad either, 15 points 13 boards! Griffin is either a few months older or younger then Stoudemire, I think he's younger.
No doubt about it, Amare was a sweet pickup for the Suns. In a few years, Marbury and Stoudamire will form an intimidating duo.
He has incredible quickness and athleticism but he didn't display much of a shot. He never took a shot outside of 6 or 7 feet and he bricked a lot of free throws. He sure looked like a young Shawn Kemp to me.
Marbury will never be OK as long as he's got his mother riding his coach. IIRC his mother complains about the coach wherever he plays. Or am I misremembering.
Again, the sign of selfishness isn't shots per game or assists. Fact is, that Marbury rarely plays within the system. He never listens to his coach's orders. I would call that selfish.
Amare amazed me to no limits yesterday. On one dunk, eddie actually blocked him but he still pulled the ball out of eddie's hands and dunked it. All the other alley oops were just plain silly. He still needs to work a lot on his shot though but atleast he can rebound and defend. He will be something to watch in the future.
This is simply wrong. Marbury is always supportive and all he cares about is winning. Actually in the beginning of last season critics were saying Marbury played tooo unselfish. You guys seem to forget that Marbury is only 1 day older than Steve Francis , you can't criticize someone that young that he needs time to grow into a leader. Marbury gets a lot of undeserved criticism. If you look at stats Francis is more ''selfish''.
Amare is exciting. I saw him in the HS dunk competition last year, as well as a HS all-star game (I think there's the thread(s) in the college forum if anyone cares to look it up). He was practically doing Tracy McGrady like dunks. I recall a straight up between the legs dunk in mid air (a la Kobe, when he won the dunk contest), then he did the between the legs dunk, but this time from the baseline, and finished it with a reverse. That was ridiculous. The only reason he lost was because he tried to do a free throw line dunk in the finals, but hit back iron. However, he needs to develop his basketball skills. I recall only one bucket that wasn't a dunk-it was a layup type thing. He is physically imposing, and an athletic phreak, but doesn't have near Griffin's natural feel for the game on the defensive end or anywhere 3 feet away from the basket.

Wanting to win, and actually doing what it takes to win is different. Every player "wants" to win. Not every player does what is necessary to win.
He also averages less than 43% from the field and well over 3 TO's per game.... And he averages a new team every 2nd year. If he's such a winner why doesn't anyone want him?
