I don't know why anyone would give up. We aren't even to the Allstar break yet and we have the BEST Gm in the game. Remember 8 teams make the playoffs and we could get hot and make a run, especially with a trade here or there. But who says this isn't the right team. Remember Tmac and Yao missed alot of the 22 game win streak a few yrs ago. BELIEVE!

Oh, we do the same thing and not just with the Rockets, of course, but with pretty much everything we watch, at least everything with commercials. I think the DVR is one of the greatest inventions of mankind in the last 700 or 800 years. ;)

Yeah , Im begining to wonder why sponsors bother to waste their $$ when so many just skip it. I get the idea that they just arent very smart.

I DVR all the games and there's a nice trick I use to keep myself from going homicidal: fast forward all parts with AB or Hill on the floor.

It's a tried and true method.

Does your interest change if we were in the eastern conference, we'd be the 8th seed in the playoffs?

My wife will tell you that I'm one die hard rockets fan, so I still watch every game even though we are likely to lose most of them at this point. But I will say that I find myself falling asleep on the couch during the games much more often this year than in previous years ... partly to blame is my 5:30am wake up call, but also is the fact that losing is a snoozer ...

It is frustrating watching this team. I would definitely watch more games if some of the younger guys like Patterson and T. Williams were playing more. I like Scola, Hayes and Battier, but watching them play well enough to just barely lose is not fun for me at all. At least if we went completely young I would watch to check out the growth and development and fantasize about the high draft pick we would add to the mix. This squad has no future as it is comprised.

It's been awhile since I've been this discouraged with the team.

Morey built up a great stash to swing for a blockbuster.....and came up empty. Now the stockpile looks over-ripened and is starting to smell bad.

Adelman was impressive the last two years, facing a lot of turmoil but making a lot of chicken salad out of chicken ****. McGrady goes off the reservation, and he produced Von Wafer's one and only gem season to offset things. All the star power goes out, and he gets the squad to overachieve last year into an all-hustle crew. Now? It's a mess and I have to wonder if he's pushing the right buttons.

So many guys are looking terrible, especially ones we hoped could progress and become reliable mainstays: Brooks and Hill to be exact. Chase has taken a slight step back as well. Martin, Scola, and Hayes are doing the team proud, but that's about it.

We're in need of SERIOUS upgrades at PG, SF, and C....and I don't know if we'll get a good solution at any of them anytime soon.

    Sucks.

The Rockets is still the only NBA team I'll ever root for... I just don't really watch NBA games much anymore. The Rockets have been stuck on second gear for a while now.

I used to get R2K's vids seasons ago when I was lurking (that was one of the main reasons I visited), then I just got bored of the NBA as a whole. The Rockets are collateral damage. Speaking of which, R2K is the awesome!

I think I will always watch every Rockets game that I can in the future but from a die-hard's perspective I have had to change the way I watch games.

Meaning, I can throw the remote at the TV if they blow a lead or make a bad play.

I have just had to except the fact that this is a team that is in limbo, and fresh faces are on their way, and the old ones will be missed when they are gone.

-Except for Battier. He sucks and has pissed me off more than any other player the Rockets have ever had. When he plays with attitude he can be amazing. But he is too worried about his image as the good guy when he plays or does interviews. (but that is just my rant and im done with it.)

I have really enjoyed rooting for Chicago this year and I dont feel bad about rooting for them since they are in the East. Derrick Rose is my candidate for MVP this year and they have an amazing team concept of defense and hussle.

This shows me that the Rockets can truely be one player away from being a contending team. Just one Derrick Rose can turn it all around.

I have complete confidence in Morey and Les Alexander to get this team back on the map in the next season or two. In the meantime, just sit back and dont let the losses and Battier dribble out of bounds with a smile on his face bother you too much. It will all be over soon.... I HOPE.

I have and will watch every single game.

But these days, you'd find a guitar in my hands during most games.

I have been watching less and its because of the bolded part in your post. Rooting for a bad team is cool..its your team, but rooting for a team that plays like chumps no way. Every game I tune in and getting into it only to have one of our players try to pull some garbage, and that kills any interest I had of watching basketball. Do they really think thats going to get them anywhere? How about playing some real basketball instead of looking for charity from the refs. The Rockets have now become a clone of the Jazz and the Mavs

Miller, Brooks,Hayes, Hill, Lee, and Ish seem to be the only players we have. The rest of the roster is composed of frauds posing as bball players. Scola should be in the player category but he is playing so soft this year. I swore I would never say anything bad about any player from the 22 win streak squad, but damn Scola is testing that :( . He used to play like a winner

Yup, usually when the Rockets play, it isn't much of a game.

I'm not even annoyed by northeastfan's usually annoying posts.

I still get excited by big wins, however

No Yao, no T-Mac = no excitement, to me... they just don't have a STAR player that makes them really exciting. They need a Blake Griffin or a Kevin Durant.

They could even do it without a big-name star if they had the right pieces; however, with the way the team is assembled now (without Yao), I feel like they have no chance to win it all.

From 1996-1998 and 2004-2009, I felt like they could make it to the finals every year; I no longer feel that way with the current team.

I was as die-hard as they come for most of my life; my interest has only begun to wane the past couple of years. I think that's just a part of growing up somewhat.
