Since our team is sub-par from previous seasons to say the least, have you lacked the motivation or just plain don't want to watch the games anymore?

We don't even have any exciting players to look forward to watching the game like with Blake Griffin and the Clippers. Their team sucks but still alot of people go to their games because the Clippers are fun to watch and have many exciting, fun-to-watch players. But with us, we're play bad and we don't have any fun-to-watch players.

Our games are basically based off Martin, Scola, and Lowry trying to draw the foul on jump shots, instead of playing straight up.

This is a thread that could have been started at some time during or before the 1982-83 season if the internet was alive then like it is now.

I would sure like to know how many Rocket fans even watched the games that season, if anything, or how many decided to just tune them out after the team traded Moses Malone to the Philadelphia 76ers during the offseason prior to that one?

I watch nearly the same amount. But with much less enthusiasm.

I could b**** about Francis or Mobley or Cato or Eddie Griffin, etc. I could argue/discuss the merits of Yao, Grady, Taylor, Nachbar, Novak, Spanoulis, Moochie, etc.

But the current roster is quite frankly...boring.

Watch pretty much every game and till the last second. I hardly get mad, because my expectations are nothing. I agree that they are just boring to watch. If not for playoffs, Morey needs to make a trade to give us 24 exciting game in the season of 82 games.

I've missed a couple of games this season, but have watched the rest.

That 82-83 season was bad, but you knew the team sucked. I mean, good Lord, our best player was probably Allen "I Choke Referees" Leavell. Even though I was just a kid, I still missed my favorite Rocket at the time, Moses Malone. I still remember crying when Mo left and when UH lost in the NCAA Finals. Back then, I was just a fan and didn't care if the Rockets won or lost.

This team we have today can't decide whether to win or lose - it's a middle-of-the-road team. It's hard to hate them because they do try and could be a star player or two away from doing well (they always seem to be in that position, don't they?) and hard to like them because you know even if they do land a star player or two, they probably will get knocked out of the playoffs anyway.

    I'm in basketball purgatory...

Watch em the same as I always have...

never too high, or too low...no intense moments unless we were down big in the 1st half coming into the 3rd and we start a comeback or a close game in the 4th. 1st half i'm like a bench player...clap for baskets and say "great defense/pass", "get over", "call timeout", w/e...

Put it like that...I'd say "we're ONLY 4/5 games behind Portland", not "damn man, we way behind...4/5 games out". Feel me?

Maybe I'm wrong on this, but I think everyone's in nba purgatory except LAL, BOS, MIA, ORL and maybe CHI.

    But your points are well-taken.

I'll admit I have flipped the channel out of anger several times...I counted 8 tonight.

    This team frustrates me.
    1) I feel like management is stupid, we have not had height behind Yao for 2 years now, when Deke went out out number one priority should have been finding a suitable center. Not to mention we don't have a lot of height anywhere else on the team, so we should have been looking before Deke went out.
    2) We play stupid. You can talk all you want about how Kyle hustles and bustles, but the dude is stupid. So many times we fight to get back into games, and this jackhole runs down the court to shoot a jumper. YOU CAN NOT SHOOT, you may make some 3s in rhythm, but YOU CAN NOT SHOOT. He isn't the only one, J Hill? This is what goes through his mind on an offensive rebound: ew ew ew the ball, fade awayyyyyy putback , brick. KICK THE BALL OUT AND GET A GOOD SHOT. Chuck I know you worked hard on the O, but fade aways while spinning? Cmon mon. The list goes on, dadadum dadumdum.
    3) DEFENSE, do we have any? Has anyone taught these "professionals" how to box out? Is chuck really the only one who tries? 4 people can't box out 1 guy? That isn't size, that's intelligence and hustle, and we lack both of them. BOX OUT.
    4) The drawing of the fouls. Do we even attempt to shoot anymore? Someone bites on the fake and we automatically jump into him...THAT'S NOT A BASKETBALL MOVE. It's costing us games and it is annoying the every living crap out of me.
    5) Rick coach better. We can't get boards, don't go small, don't leave Hill out there, put in someone who will go for the boards and play some D. Why has Jeffries sat on the bench all year? That is stupid, he can't finish, but neither can half of our team, at least he plays defense. At least he hustles, at least he attempts not to be a jacka#$.

    /rant

I can't wait for next season, unless of course we trade for a smarter team. Win or lose, this team plays dumb and without heart most nights. This is a more talented team than last year, yet we are showing NONE of it.

Personally, I have watched every game this season, and it honestly seems like I have to push myself to because deep down I know I'll probably be dissapointed with a loss..

With that said, I am a die-hard Rocket fan. I just feel connected to this team because the Rockets are just in my blood. It would be like not breathing, it just can't be done.

Hmmm... no not really at all. I first was able to get NBA League Pass for our 2004-05 season I think, and I was a junior in high school. I was working about has much as I am now, so I was able to catch about half of the games in each the 04-05 season and 05-06. In 2006-07 I was a freshman in college so I had bad internet and no chance at League Pass, though I did not work at all that year, I only got to watch the nationally televised games. Didn't get to watch much more than the national TV games in 07-08, unfortunately either, the year of "the streak." Now for the last three seasons I've had access to the crappy product of NBA League Pass Broadband, so I've had chances to watch games, but often work nights of games and have to miss them.

All in all, if I have an opportunity to watch the Rockets, I will, and that's how it always has been.

I feel like these boys are close, man. I really do. I just don't want to be back to 99-2000 to 2003-04.

Low seeds, no home court to think of and no chance of a title if we make the playoffs.

I love what teams like ATL, OKC and at times POR have, but I don't want to be them. Nice records, but fatally flawed.

Luckily for the Rockets, they have the benefit of management that will take some risks. We look bad now, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If there wasn't, the GM would have been out of a job a while ago.

It's definitely not the same as the Tmac and Yao years. Even with just one of them, I was still excited to watch the games.

With this current team, I kinda just expect them to lose. We are not a bad team, just mediocre at best.

I watch but frequently find myself turning it off. It's not that they lose, I don't mind that as much for some reason. I just hate that they are not playing the game "right". For example, nowadays, I just hate to see AB go out there. Immediately I know, even if he does well that game, the odds is the game is gonna bog down.

It maybe that my favorite Rocket this season is Chuck. Improved offensive game, still elite defensively, hard worker, never gives up. That being said, if Chuck is the best I gotta look forward to seeing every game I gotta admit, just not afraid to turn off the TV monitor and go do something else.

Mine is less about the Rockets and more about the NBA in general. Teams are becoming more lopsided than ever.

I'm sure that once word got out to everyone about Moses Malone being traded to the 76ers, most area basketball sports fans decided that they can focus on the Cougars and not even think about the Rockets that season.

I wish you can go to a Rockets practice and tell them all these points. Repped.
