I thought about that too, Raven, because when they tied the boat up to begin with, the camera man made a conscience effort to show how the boat was tied up. It was a clear "clue" , if you will. Later the boat drifts off, with a camera man convienently nearby to film it. Suspicious... I'm just pissed because my pre-show pick to win (Steph) was voted off last night. I'm rooting for Erin now.
The same thing happened in Survivor Africa. A rain storm caused the river to overflow and washed away many of the belongings of one of the tribes including their container of rice. The camera caught the whole thing. Later, the camera showed that the rice container was caught in on a log a little downstream.
I thought the monkey untied the boat? Either Shii-Ann or Jan will probably be the one to go next. They both seem to be getting on everyone's nerves. Brian was my early pick to win it all, and I still think he has a good shot.
Heard Brian was a p*rn star. The tribes are so unbalanced, it isn't funny. Who won the rewards/immunity?
I hate that dude that got stung by the stingray. He sounds dumb cause all he does is talk smack and can't back it up. Shii Ann is annoying, but the way she downed that chicken may cost her in the end. The old guy doesn't seem disgusted, but everyone else in the tribe made comments about how she went at it like a savage.
Brian starred in soft core Skinamax stuff. The tribes are unbalanced, but this was not the producer's fault. The older ones (Jan and Jake) picked the tribes. Reward challenge was different last night: each tribe was given $1000 and Jeff held an auction, where the tribes bid on food items. SJ bought a hamburger and fries for $120 bucks, CG bought lemonade for $20, then SJ bought a mystery item for $200 (I think) which turned out to be baked grub worms. CG bought spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread for $400, then nachos and margaritas, SJ bought ice cream sundaes. Immunity was sorting a big trough of four kinds of fish into 4 smaller bowls...CG won.
If either team had figured out that you could use your shirt as a bag and have the other team members load fish into it, that tribe would have won the immunity easily. I kept screaming at them to figure it out. You can carry a LOT more fish in your shirt than you can in your mouth. Blegh.
Be-HAD. It wasn't LEMOnade they bought for 20 dollars. It was LIMEade. Don't you know ANYTHING???? I think Ted's tribe got the best of it. Spaghetti & meatballs, limeade, nachos and margaritas beats hamburger & fries, ice-cream and baked grubs any day.
I've learned over the past shows that you can do anything you want in a challenge if there is not a specific rule against it. That being said, why didn't they lift the big trough of fish and move it closer to the smaller bowls?
Actually, that was Survivor Australia. What makes me suspicious is that the cameras were there to record the whole thing, including one that was in the water. Were they just sitting there witing for it to happen or what?
Well, in the case of the flood I can understand it. The execs at CBS would obviously have had access to weather reports that the contestants did not, so they could be ready for stuff like that. In the case of the boat, the only explanation I could think of that I would believe is that the cameramen on the islands film EVERYTHING all the time. Meaning that they film them tieing up the boat every night, and they have someone who walks around and films every night as well. We don't realize it because they only leave the interesting stuff in. Of course, I would find it hard to believe this because that would require a great deal of help on the island...probably 3 or 4 cameramen for each tribe. That seems like it would be very cumbersome and would make it hard for the contestants to ignore them. It seems much more likely that the cameraman unhooked the rope off the rock and was filmed the boat floating off to increase the drama on the show. Also, does anyone else wonder what would have happened if someone had said they wanted to switch tribes? The wording of Jeff's question was interesting..."Does anyone want to change tribes?" No real promise that if they said "yes" that they would be allowed to move over or not or, if they were allowed to change, what the conditions of that would be. I am very curious as to what CBS had in mind there...but I guess we will never know.
Wow...after that powerful last episode I am surprised no one was posting about it. I missed it during the week, but just recently downloaded it and watched it today. I think the thing that surprised me most of all was how genuine Robb sounded in his little speech he gave the night before tribal council. I know that most of these games are played with backward glances and silent partnerships, but sometimes I grow weary of how phony all the players must act to be successful. I think Robb's confession was one of the few genuine things that the players have said so far. Also, in regards to Jan, that little funeral she had with the stillborn bat was kind of disturbing. I can understand feeling bad for little animals, but she took it a little farther than I would have. Like Brian said, I think she might be losing it a little among all the stresses of the game. On a side note, Erin (who is already beautiful beyond belief) used the words "ornate" and "tumultuous"!!! I am in freaking-love.
I missed that episode I went to my school play and forgot to turn my VCR on to record it. I've heard it was pretty intense though.
Did anyone see last night's episode? That little twist was pretty cool. My dad said that they were showing too much of Shii Ann for her not to be booted, and sure enough he was right. She got too much into strategy, and it cost her.
Yeah, great episode. Shi Ann was just a little too enthusiastic about that "merger" and it cost her in the end. I like this season...everything is so wide open. Last season it seemed that by the time we got down to 6 or 7 players it was pretty obvious who was going to win. But with this group right now, I can see pretty much any of them outside of Jan or maybe Clay winning it all. Also, we had another odd "coincidence" last night on the episode. Everyone in Sook Jai leaves for tribal council, and a monkey chooses this time to get into their food. Oddly enough, the cameraman is right there on top of the action. I sure hope CBS is not staging some of this crap. I mean, I have to admit it makes it more entertaining...but if we were to somehow find out that parts of it were faked, then who knows what else could be faked?
***SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE*** Did anyone else find it absolutely hilarious that "Mr. Freeze", a used car salesman, couldn't spell the word "road" and it ended up costing him a very nice car? I don't know how it is Jeff didn't fall on his ass laughing when he had to tell him "That isn't road." It really bothers me that Brian seems to have the inside track to win this season, because I am getting seriously tired his cocky, "I've got everything figured out" attitude. Having said that, the vote this last week REALLY surprised me...I guess Big Ol' Ted should have laid off the wine a bit there when he won the reward challenge off of Brian's complete stupidity. Also, in regard to last weeks episode...does anyone think that Brian's marriage is probably going to be over very soon? I mean, anytime he talks about his wife, he just seems more embarassed than anything else. And when he finally got to see her for the first time in 30 days, he barely reacted at all amidst everyone else's tears. I don't know...I get the impression that something very weird is going on there.
I was wondering if he purposely threw the challenge....... Lmao.....your right on the money with this. Seems she got busted for spousal abuse a few weeks ago......perhaps a fight about money or lack of http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/heidikabuse1.html
Hmm...interesting idea. What would he have to gain by throwing the challenge, though? Also, he didn't mention anything about that in any of his little side interviews that none of the contestants can see...he seems to be pretty big on gloating about who he has in his pocket or what he can get people to do, so I would think he would mention it if he threw the challenge on purpose. That article is hilarious. I had no idea those two had been in softcore porno. That is equally hilarious.
I, for one, like Brian's cocky attitude. It makes for interesting TV. He's playing an excellent game, and I hope he wins. I have a feeling it will be either him or Jan that goes all the way, even though she is supposedly "expendable." Then again, I picked Brian from the very first episode, so I may be a little biased.
