No. Asik is not the immediate help that we need.

If Bulls want Lee, they would have to significantly overpay.

I just don't see anyone on their roster that they would part with, that we would want. They are not moving Deng, Rose, Noah, or Boozer. Other than those players there's not anyone worth trading Lee for. Morey has had his eyes on Lee for a while now, and i dont think he went through the trouble of bringing him to Houston only to ship him out for a guy like Asik. Maybe they want Brad Miller back. I'd swap Asik for Miller ;)

They have Gibson and they have the Bobcats picks. Neither I would move straight up for Lee, but together maybe.

Asik +1st rounder for Lee is a fair trade.

-From the Rockets perspective they lose a solid backup SG but his production could be replaced be supplemented well with other players on the Rockets roster that can contribute differently.

If the Bulls aquire Lee without giving up Rose/Boozer/Noah, they have just officially became true contenders in my eyes. There would be virtually no weak spots in the starting lineup and bench. Amazing defensive lineup.

Rose/Lee backcourt would be one of the most atheletic & balanced backcourt in the NBA. I find it hard to believe that the Bulls wouldn't throw in the Bobcats 1st round pick for Lee.

To me, its a win win for both teams. You get a young project Center who can at least play good post defense NOW, and might be a solid starting center in the future, and you get a potentially high draft pick to add to the good draft pick the Rockets already have coming their way.

Also they could bundle that pick with another player on a separate move in order to finalize the deal for another player. 1st round picks are always key in getting deals done at the trade deadline.

Aaron is a better point guard...but I would give the edge to Courtney. Courtney's defense and size(when compared to Brooks) are much more valuable to this team than a selfish pointguard who often will settle for a deep 3 point attempt early in the shot clock rather than trying to get his teammates involved. Plus...Courtney shoots a higher percentage from 3 anyways.

When ABs shot is not falling, he is virtually worthless. He mopes around the floor, and starts taking even more foolish shots as he tries to get back into his rhythm. When Courtney's shot is not falling, he just hustles even harder. He will come up with a few rebounds, steals, assists, and plays hard defense.

This team does not have any problems with scoring. We do have problems on defense and rebounding. K Mart, Scola, Courtney, Budinger, Brad, and even 2pat have shown us that they can hit the open shot, so why would we rather hang on to a "shoot first" point guard over a SG/PG who is solid in all aspects of the game?

I completely agree. Chuck is playing almost 40 mpg in Feb while averaging 12/10. In Jan he played 32 mpg and averaged 10/8, which I think is about his ceiling for him as a regular rotation player. Alongside some superstars and go-to guys that would be a great fit given his defense, however we don't have either of those so we're depending on his current high level of output to win games. I'm not fooling myself into thinking either of those two things will continue.

The Asik-Lee trade might be a real plus for the Rockets next year if, and only if, Chicago will part with Charlotte's pick. I seriously doubt that Chicago would part with a potential Top 10 pick -- even if 1-2-3 protected -- but would quickly give up its own pick (20 to last in first round). Personally, I just as soon have a high second rounder.

However, if Chicago were foolish enough to add the Bobcat pick, we would likely have the #9 and #14 picks to either trade up or acquire a center (Jonas Valanciunas?) and point guard (Brandon Knight?) for next year. Of course, with our draft expertise we would trade up for Enes Kanter -- a near Greg Oden talent with even worse knees.

Instead of Lee, how about Brooks for Asik and the Charlotte pick?

It is interesting how not having a center makes you over-value Power Forwards some how... as if they can stack on each other and play against Dwight Howard and Paul Gasol.

Omer Asik is doing work right now. Have no idea what his stat line is, but he's beasting Utah's frontline.

As long as we don't sign the guy to 7 mill per after a meaningless preseason game then we should be fine. ;)

Dude isn't the answer right now but down the road he could be, it would take time though.

Bulls should have picked up Tmac instead of Bogans when they had the chance.

I actually realy like this trade idea..asik is a young great shot blocker that set a record in the euroleague..great rebounder that runs the pick and roll well..don't u people get it..this is what we've been missing all year..A CENTER!!! U havnt heard of the guy because he hasn't played many minutes..with more minutes here he will be a very efficient player..one that the rockets needed desperately..I would give up lee...maybe t-will gets more playing time now...get it done morey.. loving this trade...
