Anybody have any good recommendations for ordering Valentine's Day flowers online? I remember I asked 2 or so years ago and got a really good recommendation on here, it saved me time and money but after searching the board and my emails I have not been able to find anything.

I know I want to stay away from ProFlowers. I sent once through them about 5 years ago and the flowers and vase showed up in a box without arrangement or anything. Any of you guys have any good suggestions?

    Thank you.

    I always go to teleflora.com.

They've always done a real nice job and actually get a local florist (to where you are sending them) to do up the arrangement and deliver them.

I think I've actually seen an ad running on these boards recently with a 15% off coupon.

When it comes to flowers, I always use 1-800-Flowers because theirs come pre-arranged, unlike ProFlowers. You can use this coupon code to get $10 off if you spend $50 or more...."BRADSDEALS10". Right now they have a promotion running that gives you 10% off your order by using the coupon code "SEMDISC10". You can also use "VDAY15" (I think it gives 15% off of select items).

Or, like I've been advertising on here since last year...you can get her a Clutch Gram! It was a little over $300 last year. They surprised her at her office, sprayed her with silly string, got a lot of pictures, emailed me the pictures, and gave her some nice gifts. Here is the description:

    Valentine's Day Clutch Grams
The Perfect Gift for that special someone

Rockets fans...Are you looking for something unique to get for your special someone this Valentine's Day? Does that person love big furry over-enthusiastic teddy bears?

If so, you should send them a Clutch-Gram. A Clutch-Gram is a personalized visit from everyone's favorite mascot, Houston's Own CLUTCH "The Rockets Bear."

Throughout the day on February 12th, 13th, and 14th, this furry Rockets fanatic will be traveling all over the Houston area to offices, homes, places of business, schools and restaurants delivering Rocketized Valentine’s Day gift baskets to unsuspecting Rockets fans.

Clutch will entertain your sweetheart and fellow coworkers or friends and family with his trademark antics and shenanigans. In addition, he will include 2 Lower Level tickets to the Valentine's Night game against the Nuggets and will deliver autographed Rockets memorabilia (including an autographed Rockets player poster) and Valentine's Day treats.

Give the gift that will provide life long memories and will be what everyone is talking about. For more information or to schedule your Clutch-Gram today, call (713) 758-7347.

Most flowers shops are at the mercy of the places they source out to do the flower arrangements/shipping, aren't they? So if someone has had good experiences in Houston with 1-800-Flowers doesn't mean they'd have a good experience with them in Austin. At least that's the way it used to be. I've had good luck with FTD.com and 1800flowers.com in the past.

I couldn't afford another Clutch Gram this year, so I got her this:

    Link

Be sure to go to the bottom of the home page and sign up to receive email offers. They'll send you one almost right away for 20% off your purchase that you can use. The total came out to $62.69.

    * 12 red tulips and 12 blue iris
    * Cherry Red Vase, Chocolates, Spa Trio of bath products, Valentine's Bear and I Love You Pick included
    * There is no voucher for this deal. When you hit the Buy button, you will be redirected to the ProFlowers site where you can place your order.
    * Shipping charges may vary based on when you would like your order delivered. For the best rates, place your order early!

I was gonna order a bamboo heart plant through Proflowers ....thought I was getting a good deal until they were gonna charge me just as much for shipping, guaranteed Valentine's Day delivery, "care" and taxes. 20 dollars of fees for a $20 plant.

Screw that...ordered it on amazon for about 25 including shipping...arrived at her work a few days ago...wasn't arranged but she didn't care. She loved the thought.

Last time I bought flowers for my girlfriend I just called a local florist directly so I could customize my order a little better as well as be able to have someone who is more accountable. Have heard lots of bad stories mixed in with some goods for online flower orders. Not to mention all those sites usually have $15-20 worth of fees and shipping.

I actually ordered through them today. My experience was good, HOWEVER if you look at online reviews, they are HORRIBLE!! I was paranoid since I should've done more research but in the end, I was very satisfied with my order.

use the codes available on www.retailmenot.com

This. I used ProFlowers before and was happy with what was delivered...I ordered from them again because of it.

I've probably ordered more than 10 arrangements from ProFlowers, both in Houston, and several other cities (and for many occasions), and I have had a virtually flawless experience with them. Usually I pick "Growers Choice" -- I never know what flowers they're going to send, but they've always been a big, big hit. I'm never picky about the arrangement itself, just that it looks good when it gets there. ProFlowers has always made a good impression. Make sure you use one of the many radio/tv promo codes . . . gets you a free vase.

I've ordered from them several times and have been pleased. Once, the flowers arrived one day later than the scheduled date. I called and they refunded the entire purchase + shipping with little fuss. The flowers I received were still in fine condition and lasted a week or so.

The flowers are boxed, so they aren't quite as attractive at delivery. However, I have always been pleased with the quality.
