Man, Les has rolled out the world famous Pappas Teriyaki Bowls at the Compaq center, we have spring rolls too and now Yao Ming. It cannot get any better!!! This Yao Ming arrival is fun in itself. How about Thursday night v Philadelphia when Yao checks into the game....How pumped will the crowd be when he hits his first bucket? I know it is preseason, but you gotta be pumped up Houston! I will be there as always
I was thinking about that as well. How cool is it going to be when the big guy hits his first bucket. Hopefully, it will be some crazy play that he pulls out of his ass and everyone falls out of their rockers in amazement. I wish I could get a glipse of that. Is it going to be televised? On a different note, with all the Yao hype, I think people might forget who the leaders of this team are, and that it will not be good for team chemistry if the other members of the Rockets are overcasted. Francis and Mobley, two well known NBA stars, two vets, do not want to step around the shadow of a foreign rookie, even if it is Ming. They're going to want some of the recognition and respect, and if the Rockets turn it all around and make the playoffs, they are going to want and deserve alot of the credit for getting there. Just as I'm sure Ming will deserve it as well. Hopefully there will be no problem and Ming's humbleness and willingness to learn from his NBA saavy teammates will bode well for off and on-court team cohesion.
