Good point. Think about it. If all the players jinxed by DD had panned out, we'd be a contender.
I blame Yao, because his injuries really has held this team back. I also blame Les and Morey for continuing to try to build around Yao Ming even when he went down again the last playoff series. They should have known he was unreliable and very risky but still they gave it another shot and now look at where we're at. If they were to move a different direction right after Yao went down, we don't have to worry about his injuries again and now hes injured again and we're paying for it.
What's the problem with this team? The problem is talent, and who is responsible for that? Daryl Morey. He has not brought in good enough players to be contenders this year.
The person of blame is Yao Ming, and he can't control his injuries, so there is no one to blame, except maybe Rocket's luck (for last like 5 years).
Morey. Smart teams like Portland stockpile centers for insurance, defensive beasts like Camby...and look how well they've been able to withstand injuries. Dallas does the same, and made their team way deadlier by adding Tyson Chandler. Whereas we stockpile wing players and bring in David Anderson and Brad Miller as our centers! Whoohoo!
How do people blame the players when Morey is the one bringing them in. It's not like Kevin Martin became a poor defender when he got to Houston, he was always like that. Miller is a cone on defense, and was like that before we got him. Jordan Hill, inconsistent big in NY, inconsistent in Houston.
Setting up unrealistic expectations for this team has caused many fans to become disenfranchised, and people were overly optimistic from the start. We, the fans, are just as much to blame for the emotional turmoil we are going through as any other lackluster job the FO or players have done is. Things will get better, but this is simply not the season... some people don't want to let go of it and it will only set them up for disappointment.
