What everyone seems to always forget... is the 2009-2010 season, apparently.

Great points I don't even see what the big fuss is about AB anyways. He threw his tantrum, he got suspended and took his lumps. Let's see how he is tonight before he is cast aside. DM has never been a quick-knee-jerk-reaction-decision-making type of guy, so I don't think he will be shipped to Knicks, unless it's part of a bigger scheme that DM has up his sleeve. No one on the Knicks can truely help us where we need it, which is down low. We need a 6'10 version of Chuck Hayes!

Either they trade him or give him a 5 yr, $40-$45M extension. Given his diminished role this season, I see the latter more and more unlikely. Does Morey want to invest 5 more years in a guy that doesn't like his new role coming off the bench?

You seriously don't see what the "big fuss" was all about? You don't walk away from your teammates during a game because you're in a snit. You don't ever do that, but you especially don't ever do it while the game is on the line and the team is fighting for the tie breaker against one of the teams in front of them for a playoff spot. And believe it, or not, but the Rockets are still fighting for that playoff spot.

He's a cancer and a quitter???? Come on dude are you serious? Man i'm glad fans don't get to decide the roster. Aaron Brooks helped this team reach the second round of the playoffs AND push the Lakers to 7 games!!! He's not a cancer, he is just slumping and not handling it well. But to say he is a cancer... Then name a similar incident that AB has had in his time with the team. He is struggling and the Rockets have made all the right moves so far, let's just see how tonight goes buddy...

I agree but it's not like he has a history of doing things like this. he is not bad for the locker room he just let his emotions get the best of him ONCE. Give the guy a chance man for like 2+ yeras he has been the best offensive player this team has had, and NOW you are ready to write him off???

IMHO Brooks' value is at an all-time low right now and the best move would simply be to hang onto him, sign him on a cheap long-term deal out of restricted free agency, and let him rebuild his value.

Because we have other scorers without attitudes.

    Then you should double-check.

"He will never be like Scola or Martin" -- he averaged more points than Scola did last year. He was the most important part of the team that went two games over .500; you have very selective memory.

This would be the best option, but 1) will he sign a reasonable deal and 2) will he ever rebuild his value?

I have a feeling Brooks' career will end up like Nate Robinson. He is a great scorer but will find himself buried on the bench, just how Nate was on the Knicks bench. Then Brooks will sign with a contender for a relatively low contract and win a championship. Just my 2 cents.

The only problem that I have with the guy is his attitude. Other than that he is a great spark off the bench.

So true. the Knicks have nothing we want.

Actually, the more i think about it, i can't believe Denver would even do a trade with New York. The packages other teams are offering for a half a year rental have to be comparable to what the Knicks are offering. Chandler is going to be a $10 mil per year FA next year. How is that exciting to Denver? How is that better than AB who is restricted and on a value contract? How is that better than talented rookies we have signed to multi-year value contracts? I don't think that Melo in new york THIS SEASON is as likely as people make it out to be. Denver may be able to get a package they like better for a melo-rental.

don't bother. Its because of lowry he managed 20 ppg and won MIP.

When we drafted the guy in the low first round i rmbr how pissed people were. He doesn't play , then gets put in and half a season later gets thrown to the dogs to start. Handles it really well and Poses OUR BIGGEST MATHCHUP threat vs the lakers and blazers along with Yao scoring, over 20 every game, and 30 on more than one occasion. He then comes back to win MIP with a depleted rockets team in which he was the only shooting threat with the starters for a while and all the teams would double him.

Yet I keep hearing from turds like reeko how he didn't do anything. If Aaron Brooks had slept with all these people's mothers at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised . the hate is ridiculous. People refuse to move on, even though thats the only thing thats going to make us better.

19.6 ppg on 16.2 shots per game. Not exactly earth shattering stuff right there.

Believe it not, but you don't win with five Kevin Martin's in this league. Somebody has to create for himself and others.
Not saying that Brooks is that guy, but he was asked to be that guy last season.
Also Scola, who "Brooks will never be like", was averaging 16.2 on 13.3 shots. Not a big difference if you ask me.

Furthermore a current MVP candidate named Derrick Rose is averaging 24.6 ppg on 20.1 shots. Does that make him a "not exactly earth shattering" player too?

    No because he's putting up a 23 PER while doing it since he's able to do more than just shoot;

A PER over 20 is basically all-star/elite level in the NBA. Compare that with Brooks, whose PER last year was around 16 (which happens to be what Rose did....as a rookie) and a very poor 13.4 this year (15 is average).
