What treatment? If the Rockets give Landry double, they would have no chance at a max free agent for several years.
HAHA and Stoudemire and Paul and Williams comon man? You got to be kidding. Bill Ingram hit the nail on the head
give landry double??!?! I'm talking about releasing medical records of his knee to other teams in order to scare them away and drive down his value. He isn't an item you coddle on ebay.
Yea I know, i don't know what type of world some fans live in. Hell we BEGGED gortat and made a BOSH4Houston site or w.e. Its really quite sad what level we have fallen to.
DM was on Gortat's front door when free agency began and Clutch made the strong push for Bosh. GTFO man.
HAHA. WTF are you talking about? We went after Paul, Williams or Stoudemire in FA? Paul and Williams haven't even left their original teams. We only went after Stoudemire through trade and decided against it because PHX asked us to waive his physical. He also said after he signed with NY, Houston was high on his radar during his FA. Someone clearly hit a nail on your head. The level of stupidity on this board has definitely grown. We refused to sign Gortat for the full MLE. The Rockets didn't make any Bosh website.
i agree with homie here! we love the rockets and some times when we like/love some things sometimes we cant see their faults! conley got offered a deal and we can all agree brooks is better than that guy! that being said trading him for nothing is not an option no matter how he "quit" on the team! i do see a trend with players getting pissed off on this team! sometimes i feel they get treated like objects, that can easily be moved with out remorse!
your calling me stupid yet you seem to be illiterate. Notice how I said "we". Now go pull out a dictionary and have someone dictate to you what sort of context such a rudimentary word can be used in.
So you responded to this statement about the organization... ...by explaining how "we" the fans "BEGGED" Gortat to sign and made a website to help sign Bosh. Brilliant. Also, if you're going to call someone illiterate, make sure you don't use the wrong "your" in the first word of your sentence. Related? Spoiler
The reason we won't be able to reel in a star free agent is because we're not LA, NY, Miami, Chicago, or Boston. Whether it's glamor or status, those cities have it and Houston doesn't.
We always get caught up cheering on Morey, but the bottom line is Morey is not an NBA player. We need to sign a good player by all means, who cares about having a smart stat numbered GM. That is intimidating.
I've been saying this since the handling of the jvg situation, moreys approach is just to emotionless. Players don't want to be treated like an asset. I get that its his job as the gm to do the best thing for the organization, but his approach is gonna have to soften some.
Morey runs the organization with an eye to both the bottom line and basketball stats. He's trying to win while being financially sustainable. His team has an eye for real talent as our 2nd round draft choices have shown. At the same time, he doesn't want to overpay for talent. A little frugal IMO, but that's because his dream before is to be a team owner and he's proving to Les that he is wise in his spending. No back up plan for Yao this season--we only tried to get Chris Bosh but no one else. The FA market was inflated this summer and DM again didn't want to overpay. I think we can't complain about DM's style. It doesn't mean he won't make mistakes. At least we're not suckered into bloated contracts like those of Arenas and Lewis, right? And the guys on our team are all upstanding people.
What a bunch of bunk. Players follow the money, their chance to have a significant role on the team, their chance to win a championship on that team and sometimes the perceived prestige of that team. All this other stuff is silly and inconsequential. The Rockets haven't signed a key free agent because everyone wants to sign a key free agent and they just haven't won them over amid that competition.
So, . . . no big time FREE AGENTS want to sign with Houston because Morey plays hardball in restricted free agency??? News flash: None of those players will ever have to deal with restricted free agency. It's a moot point for them. Nonsensical blog post is nonsense.
