Oct. 17 - (Updated: 1:15 p.m. CT) After opening the preseason with two straight wins, the Rockets hit the road to take on the Suns tonight at America West Arena. Starters Steve Francis (ankle tendinitis) and Kenny Thomas (sore back) will not play in tonight's contest, while Kelvin Cato, who missed Tuesday's game vs. the Spurs, is expected to give it a go tonight.

I don't live in Houston but from what I have read on the boards it appears either channel 51 or 39. Probably 51 though.

Thats ok by me. Let Steve and Kenny rest and give Boki some mins so he can get a feel for the NBA game before the season starts. I also want a longer look at the two young pg's to see who we should keep out of those two.

    True.
I know it's only Preseason but I dont like to see the Rockets struggle without Steve and Kenny. So it's a good thing to keep them out to be safe. I want to see more of Boki also. Penny Hardaway may be a surprise as well, coming back from injury. I dont know if he'll be playing though.

Both Pg's are going to make the team. Nothing in tonight's game is going to change that.

It's beginning to seem like this season is doomed before it starts. These injuries are really worrying me.

ALL of the remaining preseason games will be on KNWS 51 in the Houston area.

These are just little injuries that they would normally play through if it were regular season. They are just being cautious and letting the newbies play.

Tito Maddox has no redeeming qualities. Cut him.

Id say look for them to try and get Griffin involved more in the low post. He needs to work on that part of his game.

Also, expect Rice and Taylor to get good chunks of playing time to make up for the time they lost in training camp plus help knock the rust off.

    :D

oh ....and hopefully Pete Mickeal gets some PT

Tito looks like a troll doll.. but I like his handles. Hes not bad on my list. He seems to find the open man pretty easy, though just haven't gotten a lot of mins.

This is NOTHING like last year. If this were a regular season game, everybody except Moochie would be on the floor.

    Remember:

    (1) This is a preseason contest on the road

    (2) This is the second game in three days (with another tommorow night).

    (3) The coaching staff has decisions (which don't involve Kenny or Steve) to be made at both guard and forward.

Keeping them out is not only precautionary, but eminently logical.

    Go Boki, Go TMo!

Agreed, this is no big deal (take a valium zrb, it'll be alright)

I would rather we see how well the team can cope without SF just in case. Besides, the rooks need some time to show what they got. I wouldnt worry if they lost all the preseason games as long as I see improvement in the motion O and some good playin outta the backups and rookies. I want to see whether or not we can depend on the bench in case of injury(knock on wood)..

I hope to see Boki workin into the game, he looked way too uncomfortable out there the other nite.. and if TMo shows us he's not a fluke, that would be an added bonus.

Is this a late game tonite? What time is it startin(too lazy to go look;))

According to Rockets.com the game starts at 9 pm CST so it's sorta late.

Yeah, I have a feeling Rudy wants to let Nachbar work through the jitters in tonights game, thats why Kenny is out so Nachbar gets more minutes.

These injuries are nothing more than ways of letting the rooks and other players show what they can contribute.
And besides is it not nice to see us win a game without Steve in the lineup, maybe Rudy is testing the players.

If this would have been a regular season game they would be playing.

With respect to moochie who is injured everyone else is just fine.
