That a Lebron(and only Lebron)-obsessed poster keeps all those quotes on index cards? That he's "taking names" like his idol? I guess it's kind of funny, but in a creepy way.
lebron took his talents and the cavs heart with him to south beach! just tore it out of their chest!! poor cavs!
It was a pretty crazy year. Nothing has changed. We won't be seeing the Spurs and Celtics with only 15-20 wins in the same season, anytime soon though. I don't see we will see that kind of tanking for now, though. The Raptors, Cavaliers and Timberwolves are so bad, that teams would have go down to the 10-15 win level to get a good shot. There is no Duncan/LeBron hyped guy in the 2011 or 2012 draft, either. If I could make the NBA rules, the worst 3 teams would be excluded from the lottery and given the 4th-6th draft positions.
Found the thread, was easy to find. It's fun making people accountable for all the stupid things they say. Also, this is a about the Cavs record, not all about Lebron.
It isn't You simply said that their ceiling is about 40 games, but made no reference to their low or their playoff chances. idk why he included you in that post?
40 wins in the east, might get you a playoff spot, plus saying the cavs getting 40 wins is pretty funny. Lebron was worth at least 50 wins for that team.
He said that 40 wins was their ceiling if they were healthy and playing hard/well for an entire season. That's not even close to the same thing as predicting that they would win 40 games.
"look to be at best a 40-win team without him" is not the same thing as predicting they'd be a 40 win team. After the first month in which their record was 7-7, I was surprised by the performance and adjusted what their ceiling would be. Before the season I wrote that if the Cavs made the playoffs Scott should win COTY because that would be a remarkable feat. After a good start, I thought maybe I wasn't giving the players enough credit. That does not amount to me saying the Cavs were a playoff team, or even bound for 40 wins.
