Man hit while chasing half-full beer can across freeway

The question here is: is that beer can the one from the scene of the accident, or just a prop that some camera guy took later for the article.

 

Half empty???? Maybe if it was full, or if instead of beer it was money. But a half empty beer can, this guy was nuts or he realized he was chasing a half empty beer and decided that hitting rock bottom meant it was time to leave this world.

 

now if there ever was a beer commercial waiting to happen, there's one right there (except maybe the guy wouldn't get hit in the ad)

 

I wonder if he's related to the guy that tried to jump the Great Wall on a bicycle.

 

I think we can agree that this guy definately saw the can as being "half full" and not "half empty".

 

Or the guy that tried to bungie jump from a bridge onto a Cruise ship.

 

Well, at least he has his priorities straight. What better item to chase across the freeway?

But ironically, it was BUSCH beer he was chasing. OK, I agree....dumbass!!!!

Face charges on hitting a guy who ran out in front of you on the freeway? I don't think there is any question here.

He was chasing after a can of BUSCH? Gawd, he could have pissed in a jar, chugged that, and saved himelf the ER visit...

I don't think this is very funny.

 

Of course it's not funny that the guy might die. It is tragic. But read the little snippet on the ABC site. Police say the man who was hit was running across the freeway chasing after a partially empty can of beer. That is so quaint. It could have been he was just running across the street but the police included in their official report that he was chasing a partially empty can of beer. I can't figure out why they included the words 'partially empty'. It seems so weird. And why would the driver of the black Chevrolet pickup (not sure why color and make were important, or the fact that it was a pickup for that matter) face charges? He hit the can chaser and stopped to help the poor guy.

And how hard is it to chase a partially empty can of beer? If it was completely empty then I could see the wind gettin' ahold of it. But once you weight a can down with some beer it's pretty difficult for them to just up and run.

I dunno. Sounds fishy. I'm blaming Gore.

what do you mean how is it hard to chase down a partially empty can? Maybe he dropped an unopened can (or one was thrown to him from a passing tailgater party), and it got punctured and the fizz became a propellant that turned that man's only hope for a cold can of beer on the freeway into a randomly spinning, whirling elusive can of Busch.

You simply do not know from the evidence.

 

These guys are pretty pessimistic. They're calling the beer half empty...i think that the guy who was hit considered it "half full."

 

I disagree. I truly believe that an individuals perception of the world and his or her aura premeditates their 'luck'. Would somebody with a positive outlook on the world, or if you will allow, a 'glass half-full' guy, have the type of luck that finds them staring into the headlights of an oncoming black Chevrolet pickup. I think not. He was chasing, in his mind, a half empty can of refreshing adult beverage.
