My treadmill seems to stall for a split second every time i step on it, regardless of speed. The belt is sliding over to the left, to the side of the pulley, but only from the front. The walking belt looks fine. I'm not sure if the problem is the front roller or the motor belt. I've looked online and i'm leaning towards the front roller being the problem, but i wanted more opinions before buyting the $80-$90 part.

Anyone familiar with troubleshooting this? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Over time the treadmill belt (the thing that we run on) might get loose causing the motor to stall and might become difficult to run on because of the slack. This also might be the reason why it is drifting off the roller because it isn't aligned anymore - and loose. Your Treadmill should have come with a tool that tightens 2 screws somewhere on the chassis that tightens the belt.

Handbook should show you how to do it.

Would try tightening the belt first before going out to buy other parts; see if that corrects the problem.

This happens over time...If I am not mistaken on my mom's treadmill the back roller (farthest away from the motor) has screws on either side of it that let you losen it and then pull the roller farther out to make up for the slack on the belt. I used to do it all the time for her.

Forgot to mention i've already done that...my manual says it should lift 2-3 inches, i have it at about 2.5 on each side. Online the general rule seems to be 3-4 inches, but I it's different for this treamill.

i think i came across this online and it mentioned not all treadmills come with this feature. It's not mentioned in the manual and I don't see any screws, except those to adjust the belt or those that keep the treadmill together. I'll look again to be sure though.

I was hoping you posted a video of yourself doing something like this :

    <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-P89mUZAOW0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

In fact, UNTIL you post a video of yourself doing something like this, please delete this thread. ;)

This thread might just be more interesting than that video. I was expecting an epic fall, considering how fast he was running, but it was a letdown :p

And i checked the rear roller and there's no way to adjust them. There are no other screws there, except for what i described earlier. I also tested the friction of the belt and it doesn't seem to need lubrication ( yeah, that's what she said).

Man treadmill's are out to kill!!!

I accidently got my hand stuck in one of them, and it tore up the skin all over my hand.

Moral of the story: never try to reach for a 5 dollar bill while a treadmill is on.
