Pau is a good player not a great player. He has never made an nba first or second team and has never had a 20/10 season which is basically the measuring stick for a truly great big man. Saying Kobe hasn't won without Shaq/Pau is like saying Duncan hasn't won without Robinson/Manu.
The people who condemn him for being ringless are also the same ones who accuse him of quitting when he left Cleveland and formed his own big 3.
Wrong. He did not have a triple double. He had 52, 11, and 9. The league reviewed the game and took away one of his rebounds. Don't know where you got 11 rebounds from.
Except that Durant averages 2.8ast, he will never be a triple-double threat or create the offense for his team.
He's basically on the level of a healthy Yao. It's not a coincidence that they've made the Finals 3 times in a row since the acquisition of Pau. Wade won with less than what Kobe won has won with.
Lebron is clearly the most talented/physical specimen in the league. The guy is a tank with PG speed. He is clearly the best player in the league. No other player does as much for a team as Lebron does. My Top 5. Lebron Durant Kobe Wade Griffin
Wade also played in a weaker eastern conference and played the Mavs who pretty much let Wade beat them.
Yes, and Griffin's monster game got it's own thread here, too. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=199276
I love seeing people post this over and over. Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it true. The only way you can legitimately say that Kobe proved he can turn it on when necessary is if you admit that Game 7 of the NBA Finals is not a necessary time to turn it on.
Do you think Kobe would have won a championship in Cleveland with his 2 all-stars being Antawn Jamison and Mo Williams instead of Shaq or Gasol?
If Lebron would have had another All-Star caliber player in Cleveland [Amare, Gasol, Dwight, Bosh, Dirk, Nash, etc], He would have won a championship easily. I mean he plays for a team with 2 of the top 15 players in the league, and he is still putting up MVP numbers.
I don't think Kobe would have won more than 50 games with the Cavs teams of the last two years. Especially with Mike Brown as the coach.
Durant is already incredible but even he himself will tell you Lebron is superior, and to be honest lebron will continue to be the best player in the league until he starts to decline, and considering the fact that he is 26 doesnt seem like thats gonna be soon.
I HATE Lebron James. But it's going to be funny when he gets his ring this year. And next year. And the year after that. Because what are you irrational Lebron haters that claim he isn't the best player in the game going to say then about him then? Right now your only argument against it is that he doesn't have a ring. So what will it be then? "Yeah, but he couldn't do it without Wade and Bosh"? I despise Lebron James. He's damn near everything that is wrong with basketball right now. He's still the best player in the game.
The Heat beat 2 legit teams in the playoffs in 06, which is around the same number of legit teams that the Lakers have been beating in their last 2 title runs (per yr). Miami beat the Pistons, who won 64 games and almost won the title the year before (Sheed blew it). What Western team has LA beaten over the past 2 seasons that was better than that Detroit team? Are you arguing that the West has been strong over the past 2 seasons? The West has a lot of good teams but no great team. The Suns and Nuggets were in the WCF the last 2 years. Those are tough outs? And yes Wade pretty much beat them, with less. When will Kobe ever put up a Finals performance like that?
That's exactly what they'll say. In fact, they've already said it last summer. That's what LeBron gave up when he decided to team up with Wade and Bosh. Right or wrong, that will be his legacy -- he couldn't win it all on his own, he had to do it with a couple other superstars.
