Put him at the 4 KT flourishes Put him at the 3 KT flourishes The man just brings his lunchbucket and his heart Just have to give him some credit. . . . Consistancy ain't flashy Consistancy ain't gonna wow the world. . . But consistancy is what this team needs from the 3 spot Rocket River
Personally, I wish he was more consistant with his point blank layups. I still think he's a great player though.
Yeah, IMO that as much as I bash on KT for being undersized and overmatched at the 4 spot, he is among the most consistent players that the Rockets have. He can be depended on for 12 points and 7 rebounds every night.
Kenny scored 14 pts and 7 rebounds last year. Hes only three years out of college , hes going to continue to improve, He is almost the same age as Jason Collier.
We need 3-pt shooting and veteran leadership from the 3 spot actually. Oh, and we can use a tall, lean guy who plays excellent D and has worked on his game enough so that he's gone from being a liability to being an option on offense. There's just no room. There are no minutes for KT to be happy. At this point, I think even HE wants out. Now that Rice, T-Mo, and Boki will leave ZERO minutes at the 3, while Griffin and MoT are at the 4, where does KT fit in? Will HE, not YOU, HE be satisfied being the 3rd string PF?
I think the thread title says it all: KT is easily, and will continue to be, our most consistent frontcourt player this year. Let's go down the list: Yao Ming: Great potential, but needs experience, conditioning, etc. Let's not forget the rookie wall. Kelvin Cato: 'Nuff said. Eddie Griffin: brilliant defensive game (at least on weak side blocks), strong on rebounding, but still looks like he's trying to get his offensive game together. Mo Taylor: heady veteran with skills, but durability over the season is still a big question mark. Glen Rice: Ditto. T Morris: Great preseason, but let's not get too excited yet. Boki: Who knows? I'd be surprised if some of the names on this list don't end up surpassing KT over the long run, but the fact remains that at least for this season, Kenny is the only frontcourt player that can be counted on to deliver night in and night out. I doubt very seriously that Rudy has him penciled in as the "3rd string PF." Put it this way: you've got 96 minutes per game available between the 3 and 4 spots. Plus, depending on Yao's development and stamina and Cato's attitude, EG will probably get at least a few minutes at 5. Of the 3s and 4s above, I don't see anyone who will get more than 25-30 minutes per game consistently. Assuming that KT is at worst the #3 or #4 guy on the depth chart for 3s and 4s, and probably more like #2 or #3, he should easily get 25-30 minutes. The only question in my mind is will the Rockets be able to afford KT after this season?
Looks like the Rocks will play EG, MT, KT, Rice, and TMo in a continuous rotation. That's going be tough on opponents. They need to stress pushing it hard for the 5-10 minute stretches guys are in there and wear down the opposing players.
