We don't have any water at our house, pipes probably froze over. Any ideas as to how to even begin unfreezing them?

I tried to use a hair dryer to heat up the pipes by the water meter, but that proved pointless...

    Help

Chances are they are frozen in the walls, not much you can do about that.

If they froze in the attic, you can open your attic door and let the furnace heat up the pipes. Expensive, but probably the best you can do.

I'd just wait it out.. Wrap up your pipes for tonight, and leave some water dripping in your main faucets.

Man, I'm in my first house right now and I'm unusually paranoid about frozen pipes.

upon googling my potential fail, I can confirm, it was indeed the gas meter...

Jesus Christ. Where do you live? Just as a warning to people within a 2-3 mile radius? lolol.

Most incoming water pipes are buried up to the foundation of the house so they don't freeze. If your pipes are frozen, I'm not sure what you can do now other than hope they don't blow. Call the water company and ask.

Water shouldn't be flowing out of those pipes after the encounter you had... trust me.

So you wrapped your gas meter instead of your pipes?

I sympathize with your situation and all, but....well.....you have to admit.....that's pretty damn funny....

Will it bother you if we laugh at you? Too soon?

LOL ... Crazy thing is, we had a robbery close by and cops were patrolling the area... One cop pulled up next to my house and just sat there staring. Should have taken that as a pointer to stop.

I find solace in the fact that I am not the only one that has succumbed to this.

The only reason I assumed this was the water pipe was because I saw other gas meters/pipes in my neighborhood wrapped last year. :p

1st LOL was not preparing for the freezing temps. It was all over tv and internet.

2nd LOL was tring to heat the water pipes with a blow dryer. Really?

3rd LOL was finding out that those pipes were actually the gas pipes. I also liked how you tried to lessen the fail by saying you were just following what the neighbors did last year.

Thanks for the LOLs bro and sorry for your troubles.

Open all of your faucets to reduce the risk of a pipe bursting.

I really have to take a dump right now, but the water in the hose leading into the trailer is frozen. :(

She put her lips around your pipes and water started flowing out? You need to see a doctor pronto man, I think you might be dying.
