Hey... I've been in Utah the past few days, and got a chance to attend the game between Toronto and Houston. First, the positives: Kenny Thomas and Moochie Norris obviously didn't belong. Both pretty much had their way with whoever was trying to guard them. Not to say they didn't make mistakes, but they led the team in scoring, and they LOOKED like they just didn't belong there. Men among boys. Thomas was spinning around defenders, and Norris took the opposing PG at will. These guys looked good. After that... there isn't much positive news. I was assured that Collier has some sort of rebounding ability... I saw NONE of this. His hands were HORRIBLE... and he let himself be pushed around under the boards. Langhi... I've heard he's an offensive terror, and he looked quite good BEFORE he shot the ball... it just didn't go in the hoop. Perhaps he merely had a bad night... but unfortunately, he WAS NOT involved when he did not have the ball. He stood there... not even in opportune spaces. In fact, I didn't see any sort of argument for players other than Thomas or Norris getting signficant time next season. Collier made a pretty jump hook (I didn't know he had that in his repertoire), but played no defense against dismal competition, couldn't rebound, and failed to get open on offense. This guy was a mid-first round pick... he should have at least been an important piece in that game. He wasn't. Go KT! ------------------
Well, Collier had a bad back, so I think that's why he couldnt do all the rebounding and stuff. I hope that's why. It would be a major disappointment if such a big guy couldnt get rebounds and such. But in his profile on clutchcity, it said he was a good rebounder, plus someone mentioned that he led his conference in rebounding. That proves that he's got rebounding skill, so I think his back is truly botherin him. Langhi is a terrific shooter, and I think that you're right... he just had a bad night. It's nice to hear that about Mooch and Kenny. From the game reports, it said that Kenny was playing pretty bad. He did have 16 or so points against toronto, but I heard that he took a lot of shots to get them, and that he still hasnt found his groove yet. Maybe there's some hope for Kenny after all. ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
Kenny wasn't necessarily shooting well, but his moves were good, and he was able to get good positioning. He also managed to put himself in places where he could be USEFUL, which was the most troubling thing absent about Langhi. With Collier, it's certainly possible that the pain was bothering him... but his hands seemed atrocious. He kept bobbling the ball. ------------------
haven, are you going to tonight's game at 6 (mtn). I'll be there, and I'm sure Darkhorse and slcrocket will be as well. It's a Jazz game, though, so I may have to go around 4:30ish to get decent seats. This time I want Kenny to hear my directions to the post. ------------------ The ClutchCity 500.
Achebe: I wish I could be there. My girlfriend lives in SLC, so I was up there visiting for the long holiday weekend (that's why I've been absent for the past few days). I had to come home monday night . ------------------
