I was tempted to pick Thunder as they are the former Sonics. I ended up picking other (citing the Sonics). The reason is that we weren't legit contenders when the Jazz beat us in the playoffs (maybe we were between 97-99 but not so much). I hate the Sonics more because we were very legit contenders in the early 90's. Also, if it weren't for the Sonics, no one would be bagging on the Rockets 2 titles with a Jordan-less NBA. Why? Because Rockets would have made the finals and beat the Bulls in the finals a few times between 91-93.
Hated couple of years ago when they keep owning us in the playoffs But after Boozer and Korver was gone, and they became very mediocre I don't hate them that much anymore. Plus I really enjoy watching DWill. As of now its a toss between Heat and Lakers, but the doucheness of Lebron is making Kobe seem like a mature and respectable player
Hornacek rubbing his face... Malone talking to himself..... Always been Utah for me. A guy sent me this once. As much as I hated em, I had to laugh.... http://mail.aol.com/33170-111/aol-6...lder=Saved&partId=5&saveAs=RocketsFan2008.mp3 I remember Barkley actually getting in a three point stance during right before an out of bounds play - as a sign to the refs that's how Utah was "picking", over and over. But, back in the day it was Seattle who was right behind Utah. Dale Ellis was The Rocket Killer. Couldn't stand any of 'em. I HATED the ZONE defense (before it was legal) Karl used to play on us. Payton and McMillan would slap down on Dream and were rarely called on it - after camping out in the lane illegally. I remember watching the first game versus them after signing Barkley. We won on a play where I believe Dream hit Charles cutting to the bucket. I was in a sports bar in Atlanta and since the game was in Seattle, it was around 1AM. I went nuts and it was like the first week of the season...lol. I was so tired of losing big games and a couple of playoff series to them though.
I don't see the point in voting for the Lakers. Every team's fans in the league hate the Lakers. At least when you pick the Jazz, there's a history and uniqueness behind it. The Mavs are also a good choice because there's the divisional connection and the city-rivalry. L.A.'s a team that everyone will hate passingly simply because they're the Lakers. Saying you hate the Lakers is just redundant and unnecessary.
1. Mavericks (I hate the fans, the players & the franchise more than any other team) 2. Jazz (I hate the flopping players, our history with them, and their unoriginality when calling their copycat Red Rowdies fan group the "Jazz Rowdies") 3. Heat (didn't dislike the Heat until this year. I hate the idea of team stacking, the fact that Bosh chose the Heat over us, and I've really developed a hate for LeBron.) 4. Lakers (I hate the players, their celebrity supporters, the franchise, the fact they win so much, and their bandwagon fans that are EVERYWHERE) 5. Celtics (a lot of egos on that team & they win too much)
lol at whether they play jazz in Utah. I'm not sure they've figured out what it is yet. Gotta hate the Jazz first and foremost. When they played the Bulls in the Finals, it was the only time I ever routed for the Bulls. SLC is a terrible terrible place--the armpit of America. Lakers are 2nd for me because of Kobe. The guy b****es and plays dirty (recall his knee to the head to Battier after getting stripped by him and his elbow to Artest's throat) and had to settle out of court on a rape charge. Also remember what a d-bag Shaq was to a rookie Yao. Not to mention all the rigged calls that went to LA--especially with the Kings and Blazers.
Historically it is definitely the Jazz, but as of now, I can name more players I hate on the Mavs and Lakers. Therefore, I had to go with the Lakers. 1a) Lakers 1b) Mavs
there's nothing passing in a Rockets fan hatred for LA 1981 Western Conference Quarterfinals Rockets won, 2-1 1986 Western Conference Finals Rockets won, 4-1 1990 Western Conference Quarterfinals Lakers won, 3-1 1991 Western Conference Quarterfinals Lakers won, 3-0 1996 Western Conference Quarterfinals Rockets won, 3-1 1999 Western Conference Quarterfinals Lakers won, 3–1 2004 Western Conference Quarterfinals Lakers won, 4–1 2009 Western Conference Semifinals Lakers won, 4–3
For me, its the Lakers. I live in Southern California, a few hours away from LA (aka Lakerland) and I'm surrounded by Lakers fans. It gives me intense pleasure to see them lose and their fans distraught.
