Calling someone names is not a good way to show intelligence. If you had things to say about him then say them, but name calling is not deserved or wanted here.
Problem is Mooch is out with a dislocated finger and Steve has tendonitis. So we start the season with only OT or TM as backup. Not very happy with that prospect.
Well Steve will be there to start the regular season. Whether his tendonitis affects his playing minutes remains to be seen ....... Moochie will miss 3 weeks, which is only 1 week of the regular season. Plus, I wouldnt be too worried. I imagine Morris could play some 2 if he had to.
I haven't seen either of the preseason games (my family is sending me the tapes though) but I really think we should give Boki some time. He's only played what, 20 mins? Him not hitting a shot yet is a little discouraging but we gotta just give hims some time to adjust to the NBA and to Rudy's system (the motion iso offense). If he's doing this 2 months from now, then we'll have a problem but for now we should all just wait and see. Besides, how can anyone hate on a guy who liked the Rocks org. so much and wanted to be here so bad that he actually wrote Rudy a thank you for letting me work out with you letter?
no. either you're missing the point completely just to try and justify your assinine thread title or you're a ... anyways, no ones saying that nachbar is the next nowitzki or the next bird. the point is that just like dirk had a sad first year you can't jump to conclusions on 2 preseason games for boki? can you get that through?
You use good draft picks to address long-term needs. For example, we didn't pick up Yao Ming for what he'll do for us this season, but so that he can be our center for the next decade. So, examining our long-term options at small forward, we have: Glen Rice: Will retire soon; might not be able to play injury-free again. Kenny Thomas: Playing out of position. May well leave for a team with a vacancy at power forward. Terence Morris: Was picked to fill a future need at SF, but frankly might not pan out. He was a second-rounder. That looks to me like a long-term need at small forward that should be addressed. To address a need at small forward, you do not start by picking up a shooting guard. Nachbar's contributions can't be measured by the training camp of his rookie season in which he is recovering from injury. Even moreso, he can't be measured by some blanket, xenophobic 'Euro' stereotype. Nachbar is no more unproven than Rush. From every account I've read and heard, he's not slow at all but actually runs the floor well and is quick. And, his defense will be like any rookie's defense -- bad.
That's like saying, "I told you we should have given Cato an extension" based on his preseason of a few years ago. Wait, we did that. Hmmm. I guess Rush could wind up being just as successful as Cato during the regular season.
I've heard Boki is the hustler type who plays good defense, where did this slow, no defense crap get started?
If he's a hustler type player with good defense, he really did not show any of that in last nights game. He was moving almost Collier-like last night and was getting outhustled by everyone. He barely went after any rebounds and let players get right by him on defense. I'm really hoping it's just the injury that's slowing him down.
