I was just curious, seeing all the DM hating in the form on where the Rockets are at. Portland is in a similar situation as us, w/ Roy and Odens' careers not looking to bright. Even though Oden will be off the books next year, not sure about Roy, how do you think their front office will approach it? Do you think they are going to be stuck in mediocrity in the upcoming seasons?

Well, at least they do have a franchise cornerstone in Lamarcus, aside from that there are a lot of question marks, I do not envy their position at all.

Aldridge is good but I see them being stuck where they are at for a while... He might win a big game every once and a while, but he's not bringing them a ring. Plus they will be getting worse since Andre Miller, who I think is an extremely underrated player, is getting pretty old.

Rich Cho has already said changes will happen, with a focus more on the future than quick fixes. He said they want draft picks in return.

Several of their older veterans like Andre Miller & Joel Przybilla will likely be gone before the trade deadline.

The core going forward will be Aldridge, Batum and Mathews. They need a starting PG and C.

Portland's future is brighter than Rockets.

    LaMarcus Aldridge>Jordan Hill
    Wesley Matthews>Courtney Lee
    Nicolas Batum>Chase Budinger

They are trading away their old vets for draft picks. It will hurt them this season and next season, but they will have worst record than Rockets and get better lottery picks and other team's lottery picks.

Rockets continue to try to win with vets Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and 6'5" Chuck Hayes and will continue to get low lottery picks.

kevin martn vet? he is two years older than aldridge, and with 27 years old, you still have a lot of basketball to give.

Well Portland actually had a greater advantage than us. That team lucked out on both Brandon Roy and LMA, then the number 1 pick in the draft right after, not to mention the lottery picks spent on Martell Webster et al. The fact that we're extremely similar to them despite only having 2 lottery picks over the last 6 years is a testament to DM's greatness.

Maybe we can do something like a C-bud+Hill for Pryzbilla trade then. That would shore up the center spot really nicely while opening up the SF slot for C-Lee so T-will can slide into the backup SG spot.

You are seriously overvaluing Terrence Williams, when you say he is better than Wesley Matthews. Wesley Matthews will be a good offensive and defensive player and had great range on his shot. He averages nearly 40% from 3 pt range.

Wesley Matthews has dropped 20+pts many times and plays great defense. He has had 30+ pts a few time, this season. Terrence Williams will not be better than Wesley Matthews.

Kevin Martin as part of the future. LOL. Ok sure. He will be 30 in 2 years. We might as well add Scola to that future. Our future is not so bright then. He will peak at 30 and decline.

Um, the Rockets started with T-Mac, Artest and Yao, we were way ahead of Portland. We have been declining for the past 2 years and got nothing for Artest. We may get nothing for Yao.
