Assuming 6 is the maximum, a fully guaranteed 6-year deal worth ~20 million might be it.

Even if another team is offering him more money next year, Chuck will have to take into account his long term security. If he goes to the wrong team that has a coach who doesn't play him, he could be out of the league in a few years.

This will be interesting. I think the one team that needs Chuck the most is the Rockets, and I don't know if any other teams will be interested in paying Chuck big money. I think the Rockets and Chuck may come to an agreement fairly easily since both sides realize they need each other.

Chuck is going to the Bulls on a rich contract. The Third Van Gundy Brother appreciates Chuck's talent.

Have been wondering if the MLE is still around, perhaps the Superfriends would dump it on him as a way to shore up their interior D, and because they really don't care about overpaying players. That would suck.

If Chuck signs for $2 mil. he might be one of the few members of the present team to be still here next season. :p

Superfriends are doing just fine with Joel Anthony and Chris Bosh. They don't need to look to our players.

By the hard work this summer, chuck went from a spot defender to a rotational guy. On a good team, he's still kinda like a situational guy, but at least he's closer to a 20-25 minute player than a 10 minute guy. Given the rate he has improved and hopefully its not a contract year drive, i think anywhere from 3-4.5m per.

Just hunch, but I think Hayes gets more interest this offseason than he did the last time he was a free agent. I think his ability to guard post players is fairly undeniable now. It's hard to say what a new CBA will do overall to the free agenct landscape though.

$4-$5 million...really? His offensive game is never going to improve enough for him to be worthy of that amount of money, at least on this team.

I see him getting a 3 year MLE deal from someone with a team option for the 4th.

Based upon the current CBA, Hayes would be lucky to get $3M/year. That's what Landry got and he plays on both sides of the ball.

Can you imagine Chuck starting next to DH in Orlando, they would be impenetrable.

I believe he'll get Thabo Sefolosha type money. 4 - 5 year contract 18 mill. A dark horse to get him I believe is the Warriors since he's from that area and are known for over paying for players.
