This is close to what I would expect. I don't know if we'd trade out both Brooks and Martin, not in the same trade. I don't know if we'd get enough back in return as this deal shapes up. But trading with Indiana makes a lot of sense. As far as expirings, probably TJ Ford rather than Dunleavy (Indiana told Houston native TJ that they're going with the young guys etc etc, and he's in street clothes now).
Yea, I saw the info on TJ this morning. I was going to post another trade that came to mind, just need to work out the kinks and get the amounts to match up regarding Ford. Indiana makes a logical trade partner and with their willingness to move their 2011 1st rd draft pick for an established player, I can see Martin or Scola end up there after Feb 24th.
Pretty crazy and random. This is, I think, the literal best case scenario I could imagine without including players who would never be traded. Kinda inspired by R=$'s original Rockets Nets trade idea. Bulls- Get better now to gear up for playoff run, also send their own 2012 pick to Houston unprotected. They already have CHA's first that year which will likely be higher and they wont need two. Hawks- Get a true center so they can slide Horford to PF where they like him better. They also upgrade at PG. Nets-Get a guy they supposedly love in Scola and unload Devin Harris contract which seems like something theyve been interested in doing. I guess they're motivation to do this increases if they see Favors as a center. Hornets- Get way under the Luxury Tax and save alot of money this year and even more in the future, they avoid paying Okafor after they lose Paul. This deal only makes sense as a financially motivated one, but they also receive young players in Patterson, Budinger and Brooks and would Also receive New Yorks 2012 first and our own 2013 First. Nuggets- With the NJ deal off the table and limited teams willing to trade for Melo without an extension, they take the best offer available for him rather than settle for what New York is offering. They unload Harrington, get Hill, Taj Gibson and James Johnson, and Houston also sends them their 2011 First Rounder. Rockets- PG- Paul(32)/ Billups(16)/ Jack SG- Martin (32)/ Billups(8)/ Twill(8) SF- Anthony(32)/ Twill (16)/ Balkman PF- J. Smith (32) Nene(16)/ Harrington C- Nene (16)- Okafor (32)/ D-Leaguer counting everyone but Twill those players are averaging 85 shots for 121 points per game so far this year. With Paul Smith Nene and Okafor you would definetly have an above average defense. Actually Im pretty sure that would be the best NBA team by far. Even if Anthony decided to opt out Smith could just slide to the 3 and Harrington could replace his spot at the the 4. In 2012 if you traded expring billups and nene with Twill for howard, gilbert arenas and gilbert arenas's contract you could potentially be unbeatable in a very literal sense.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4vscv8u This idea sounds completely stupid at first but look at it this way: Deng can play solid Defense, can be a prolific scorer from all angles of the court, a complete team player, great human being and so on. He's not Carmelo Anthony but he's a year younger with plenty of attributes and not worth max money. By making this trade we rid ourselves of of similar players, go a bit younger and increase in overall efficiency. The Bulls would have the player they covet in Courtney Lee, replace Deng with Battier, and a good backup in Budinger who could also be included in a package in a trade for Carmelo Anthony. Please think realistically on this one and let me know what you think....
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=5wx92n9 Memphis gets a young player to replace Thabeet, Philadelphia gets two young players plus an expiring to take Iguoldala off their hands. We get, what I think will be a solid fit, in Iguoldala and a young center in Thabeet. If Thabeet doesn't work out, his contract is up in two years and he's not getting paid alot.
Once this trade is in the books make the following one to address our Center presence or lack thereof: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4zkeu6k Golden State has shown interest in Yao, so why not exchange big men and add Vladimir to back up Deng at the 3. A depth chart along the lines of: Lowry/Brooks/Ish Martin/T-Will Deng/Radmanovic Scola/Patterson/Hayes/JJ Biedrins/Miller/Hill would look solid, not to mention the five different nationalities for marketing purposes.
I like that trade ALOT but Philly is not moving Iggy....unfortunately......but really good trade for all teams! Good job.
Why in the world does Memphis (who has shown some bright spots this season) dump Mayo and Thabeet for Jordan Hill and a TE? I understand that Thabeet has bust creeping onto everyones lips, but with Marc Gasol and ZBo it is not as if the Memphis are as desperate for a center as.....oh...Houston. How is this a great trade for all involved, truly?
Granger Rush D.Jones for Scola Brooks Lee Jefferies (cut) IN gets a strong PF & a very good combo @ PG w/ Collison & add Brooks. Lee is a local kid & Rush has bee up & down. This gives them more cap in '11-'12 HOU gets a All-Star SF to go w/ Martin & a b/u wing in Rush who has the ability but has never played for a good coach.
Houston Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: -4.6 ppg, -1.7 rpg, and -2.9 apg. Incoming Players Ron Artest 6-7 SF from St. John's 8.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.1 apg in 28.0 minutes Shannon Brown 6-3 SG from Michigan State 9.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.2 apg in 18.7 minutes Outgoing Players Jared Jeffries 6-11 SF from Indiana 1.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.7 apg in 7.8 minutes Aaron Brooks 5-11 PG from Oregon 12.6 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 4.1 apg in 24.2 minutes Chase Budinger 6-7 SF from Arizona 8.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 18.7 minutes Needs to happen !
I'm hoping for a serious change to this team come next season that isn't giving up over 100 points per game. We need to put our assests together and get something great started. Trade #1 with Nets Martin, Scola, Miller for Favors, Murphy, Vujacic Trade #2 with Nuggets Bud, Hill, Jefferies for Nene Trade #3 with Kings Brooks for their 2011 1st round pick Giving us 2 1st round picks this year and this to finish the season Lowry/Ish T-Will/Lee Battier/Vujacic Favors/Patterson/Murphy Nene/Hayes/Yao Definitly wishful thinking but it makes Nets get a lot better and for taking on Miller we don't take their 1st round pick Kings get the PG they covet Nuggets get young assests and expiring to rebuild themselves. With the contracts of Battier, Murphy, Vujacic, Hayes, and Yao we still have the flexibility to sign some of our free agents and rebuild through the draft. Resign Hayes and Battier. Draft T. Jones(compared to Lamar Odum) and Montiejunas(compared to Pau Gasol) With an interesting line-up of Lowry/Ish T-Will/Lee T.Jones/Battier Favors/Patterson Nene/Hayes/Montiejunas
Rockets receive Gerald Wallace, SF Tyrus Thomas, PF Shaun Livingston, PG Bobcats receive Yao Ming, C Aaron Brooks, PG Chuck Hayes, PF/C 2011 first rounder Why do the Rockets do it? It fills our defensive void, while giving up that huge contract of Yao's. Why do the Bobcats do it? This would give them 2 first round picks for Jordan to work with, along with a nice talent in Aaron Brooks.
[/U]QUOTE] lmao seriously?[/QUOTE] Yeah seriously, it's obvious Les enjoys the marketing aspect of the nba and the horizons international players such as Yao have brought to the League. All im saying is Im sure he'd be willing to add multi-nationality players for that sake alone.
