Bottom line - providing someone an opportunity to commit a crime is not entrapment. Law enforcement has to do something that would cause an otherwise law abiding citizen to commit a crime. If the average law abiding citizen saw a car with the keys in it, they wouldn't go take it just because they could - hence it is not entrapment.
NEG REP for bringing up an old thread. but, rep for bringing up a funny video. SO, it's a push for you
I wish the police would brutalize the thieves a little with some beating. It might deter them from stealing a car next time. The police were way too nice.
Spoiler I made myself LOL with a picture I post 2 years ago. Didn't realize this was an old thread, I was reading through it on my phone. Then checked my rep and saw someone rep'd me....I was like I didn't just post in that thread.
I was bringing things in from my car one evening, got interrupted with a phone call (or one of my kids.... can't recall), and left the door open overnight. Of course, the inside light was on as well as the door being open. No, the keys weren't in it, but one could call that an unintentional invitation, I guess. It was sitting there the next mornng with everything in it, including the camera in the glovebox. Must have been luck or my neighborhood. Go figure.
