And yes, your living situation will change for 6 months out of the year... But they know that going in... They signed up for this... And they're well accommodated for it

I hope trade talk continues to affect Rockets. They need a higher draft pick more than they need losing out on a close playoff race.

Not that I disagree with you but also remember, these guys have families and some deep roots in the community. For guys like Scola, Brooks and Battier getting traded is a MAJOR move in their life and their families which will probably cause some MAJOR changes to take place. For guys like JHill and Chase, its easier because they have no family deeply rooted in Houston or connections to Houston and a move means another opportunity to shine.

Gotta be the trade talks - we were doing so well at the start of the season. Stupid trade talks killed the season. :(

What's up Doc? There weren't any trade talks about Scola, Martin and Yao at the start of the season. Brooks talks were only mild then as compared to now. If you've noticed, Scolas play has been up and down lately. I'm just sayin'.

Setting the stage for negotiating his big pay-day probably should have a larger mind-share than what team he'll be negotiating with.

More than just the trade talks. To more the new infractions imposed with substantial fines affect alot of players in the NBA, while none of our guys get the benefit of a Kobe or Miami big 3, you can bet that will they play they know that aggressive contact can cut a whole in their wallet through out the progression of a year. I would say they over compensate and create the fouls sometimes which gets them in trouble. I almost can't watch a game when I feel that the rules of engagement imposed at the beginning of the season have ruined that particular game so far.

    No excuses

We have sucked long before the trade rumors about Carmelo, or anybody else for that matter, started to heat up.

Lets face facts....this team stinks out loud. We have no backbone/heart/pride. Now we just roll over and die. This has nothing to do with trade rumors, after all when are there not trade rumors?

We stink because we have too many one way players who quit when the going gets tough.

    :(

The whole team expects a shake-up before the trade deadline. Of course there are chemistry issues.

It should if they read Clutchfans BBS. Otherwise, I think it's the yearly churn that every team experiences. No team is immune to the trade rumors. If we had someone, like a Melo, who openly expressed his desire to leave, then that would be a distraction. The rest is just white noise.

More like purgatory, Hell lands you Rose, Durant, Westbrook...etc. Purgatory lands you the Patrick Patterson, Jordan Hill and Terrance Williams. Granted these are good players, they aren't players that will get you out of purgatory. Hell means we have to tank and Heaven means we have to trade, but we are stuck in purgatory for the time being.

The best players in the league are usually drafted in the Top 5. (minus Kobe)

Your thread basically implies that the Rockets are getting hurt/distracted by trade talks. Dr of Dunk was pointing out the Rockets season started out 0-5 and never cleared .500; so, at what point were we good?

The bottom line is this; as long as Yao is still in the mix, the Rockets are going nowhere, not fast but slowly. The Yao Ming era must END, finish, close, stop! If it lingers on, multiple attempted comebacks, (we have already had how many?) then there is really no other "plan." Just waiting for Yao, which is just a terrible idea. And as to trading for another "star" player, who are we going to get with the assets we have? If we had such great trade assets we we would be a playoff team. None of our players are real difference makers or they would be making a difference here.

It is not the main reason for our decline. We aren't good enough.

Its basically just been a "me-first" approach with the bench players at least. You also have more than a couple players who are relying on their individual performance in order to pursue a contract next year.

The main casualty from this player stockpile expiriment has been the defense. Players just aren't playing together and communicating on the court.

I believe in the coaching staff and management in what they are doing, its just that we all as fans might have to suffer quite a few more losses before the trade deadline.
