You know what, that's a good question. Here's a comparison of Dennis Rodman vs. Ben Wallace. Ben Wallace: * 1x NBA Champion * 4× NBA All-Star * 4× NBA Defensive Player of the Year * 3× All-NBA Second Team * 2× All-NBA Third Team * 6× All-Defensive First Team Career averages: .476 FG% .417 FT% 10.1 RPG 1.4 APG 1.3 SPG 2.1 BPG 6.2 PPG Dennis Rodman: * 5× NBA Champion * 2× NBA All-Star * 2× NBA Defensive Player of the Year * 2× All-NBA Third Team * 7× All-Defensive First Team * All-Defensive Second Team * 7× NBA rebounding champion Career Averages: .521 FG% .584 FT% 13.1 RPG 1.8 APG .7 SPG .6 BPG 7.3 PPG I'm going with Rodman as a lock because of his rings and rebounding titles. Wallace has a good chance though.
so yao ming should be inducted into the hall of fame not for what he did on the basketball court but because he was chinese? if yao ming was the exact same player skills-wise and was black, he would not ever be considered for the HOF.
And if Drazen Petrovic had been the exact same player skills-wise and he was born in the USA, he would not have been inducted into the HOF.
Is this a joke? Lebron, Wade, Nash, Parker, Ginobili and Billups are already locks for HOF if their career ended today..
Lebron James was a league MVP in his early 20s and Wade was a finals MVP in his early 20s. Chris Bosh I might agree with being a maybe, but Wade and James are definitely in.
I think Grant Hill has a shot strictly for being the guy that inbounded the ball. How many times do you see that play?
Posted this in the wrong thread so I am going to put it here. How about this. McGrady just got 5,000 career rebounds. Say he get's to 5,000 assists and 20,000 points (Very sad considering 3 years ago many thought he had a great chance to get upper 20,000, lower 30,000), does he get in??? Who has been in the 20,000+ points, 5,000+ reb, 5,000 ast club?
For 50/50 players... Gasol will not get in. Not even close. Even though I think Tony Pecker is more responsible for the Spurs titles, I think Ginobody will get in, since the HOF is actually the "Basketball HOF" not the "NBA HOF." Ginobody has so much success in world ball and NBA, and both are counted in the HOF. I don't see Ray Allen making it. Pierce, maybe...likely...huh,,,yes.
Locks Duncan KG Kobe Shaq Kidd Nash Yao Dirk Lebron (doesnt matte rhow these last 2 finish their careers, media will let them in) Wade More than likely Manu Iverson Ray Ray Ben Wallace Have a shot McGrady Vince Carter Tony Parker Billups
Anybody that is questioning Pierce's hall chances don't know basketball. Mt. Rushmore level players Kobe Duncan Shaq Clear HOF'ers Garnett Pierce Nowitzki Allen Kidd Iverson (most overrated player in history, but he'll clearly go) LeBron (yes already) Wade Gasol (international career counts) Borderline (in order) Ginobilli (close to a lock) Nash (half a great career, confident he'll go) Carter(yes, but barely) Billups (outside looking in) McGrady (outside looking in) R.Wallace (outside looking in) B.Wallace (outside looking in) Barring catastrophic injury Howard Paul Williams Anthony Bosh Parker Stoudamire Rose ( a long career to go) By my count 23 active players. Sounds like a lot, but tf you check history 23 active players is actually a little less than usual.
